Carpe Noctem (Seize the Night) - Week #2
EDIT: This is the 2nd Week of "Carpe Noctem".
Here I am again at the NetOPia Internet Cafe outside the DLSU-D campus. It's night time outside. Quite a long day I might add. I'm not alone though this evening. I'm with Lance and my new friend Apple. Lance and I are giving her a tour of our website at Atheneum. It feels strange, but also heartwarming to see my past and Lance's past be viewed and heard on a videoscreen in a place far far away. She's from Laguna and she's even returning there in a few minutes. Lance and I will head back into campus. Last time I went to this Internet Cafe, I left the campus in civilian and without my ID!! It was also 8:55pm on the dot. The guards didn't let me in for five minutes until they had gathered enough information about me and if I were truly a LaSallian dorming in the campus.
Yahoo! won't load here, and again the FREE Internet inside DLSU-D closes before 7 o'clock. In fact, it closed at 6:15pm earlier when Lance and I arrived there. Speaking of Lance as it has been in this post, he got to meet most of my new friends today. He has this charismatic charm again working with my new friends... and speaks tagalog! Then I bet my classmates are saying "He speaks tagalog George, how come you don't?!". ^_~
I'm glad he's met my friends. He hasn't met all of them yet, like the sporty at the same time powerful May-Ann. It's not fair Lance, I don't get to meet your friends! What is this!?
Anyways he told me he saw our old batchmate Veejay on the campus earlier. That narrows it down. If we combine Lance and myself and the batchmates we've seen, we haven't seen Candy Paredes and Katrina Convento yet. I, for one, saw more batchmates then him! ROAR. Yet he's the one who saw Veejay. I want to see all my batchmates that attend DLSU-D. Candy lives in a dorm, Joy (now living in UP-Diliman) says. KC is someone I haven't heard from in ages. The two are in Nursing I believe.
Tomorrow I have a Panel Interview for the VPAPU. You can make that "Panel Interrogation", to know how I feel. It's tomorrow after classes. It's the final step into trying out for the VPAPU. I don't know what will happen, but I need to put myself together.
And another thing. We are having another orientation tomorrow. That makes it NUMBER FOUR. The first was the official orientation by the school last May 28th. Then the second one was last week for the NSTP-ROTC/CWTSP (National Services Training Program - ROTC or Civilian Welfare Training Service Program). Then the third one was a special one for COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS students. The crazy one where my new classmate and friend dominated the auditorium with her voice and how she "spoke for the audience" complaining about the TH schedule code. As in, TH isn't thursday... it's Tuesday for T and Thursday/Huwebes for H. She made a loud complaint that got the audience roaring.
And then tomorrow there is ORIENTATION IV. This time it gets even more specific. It's for the people taking the mega-course "Mass Communications". That would mean for the Freshmen: 3 AB Communication Arts classes with 1 AB Broadcast Journalism class. Yep, I just found out that I'm in the only AB BroadJourn class. We are 49 in all, 10 guys, 39 girls.
May-Ann already made an announcement that all BroadJourn will "gather" at one of the kubos outside JFH tomorrow. There we will all march as a group and together storm into the Auditorium as proud Journalours. Well that's what happens when we have not only a sporty girl, but also a skipper to lead us and direct us through.
So an Orientation, again... followed by a break then College Algebra then my Panel InterROGATION. To my friends of the past, I miss you all. None of what you read here will ever surpass the memories I had with you all back then. The memories I make in college are my college memories, and the memories I made in High School are my High School Memories... yes, it's logical. Yet it is the protocol that tells you I'll never forget our days back in High School.
And Lance... is with me. It's so interesting. Two guys with similar pasts... similar High School lives... in college and in the same dorm.
Damn my curfew is like, now. It's getting light. By the light of the Xerox Machine with some of my friends earlier, I hereby end this Post and journal entry for today. Good night.....
The original post was cut, this post was originally a very long one.
