Carpe Noctem (Seize the Night) - Week #10
NOTE: this is a post that is made prior to moving back to the dorm and is usually posted on sunday nights.
Already four events have completed since the dawn of August. Froshnyte (where Broadjourn won), Freshmania (where I got a picture with Slick Rick of Magic 89.9 and my friends), Buwan ng Wika Parade (where Broadjourn won 3rd place out of nearly 20 performing blocks), and Beau Monde (the first Batch No. 07 of VPAPU full-scale production).
That clears the way for much needed time for me to concentrate on less-performing and less-partying tasks at hand. Which would include my slouching and "bopping like an iceburg" performance in some Academic Subjects. I would like to boost my performance in basically all of them.
Plans this week? Well, I still can't get away from anything related to the stage. The entire PAG (Performing Arts Group) which VPAPU is a member of has it's GA (General Assembly) this week. VPAPU Batch No. 07, the probees, will be performing. It's weird. Because of all the members of PAG, VPAPU isn't on the stage, it's behind the stage.
POP Band, BRASS Band, POINTES Dance Troupe, TEATRO, CHORALE, and FILIPINIANA... and then VPAPU. We're planning to give the other organizations of PAG a shocker with VPAPU's daring performance this week. To be practiced Monday and Tuesday.
I wouldn't focus much on this though. It's not like we're producing a show and the pressure will be like the past three weeks. VPAPU will just be attending two practices for a simple performance.
In the HERALDO, all I have to do is log in and complete two Feature Articles by Friday.
In the AB COMM CHANNEL, it's supposed to be Pre-Production. But I think it got postponed for next week and not this week. We're doing a documentary entitled "Far Away Home" about Varsity members who have been living on campus and far from their families' for a while now.
In ACADEMICS, it's getting the upgrade... the overhaul... the pick-me-up... whatever you'd like to call it.
On the other hand, DORM LIFE will also get an upgrade. Tomorrow morning on the way to DLSU-D, my mom and cousin are going to help me with buying the Linolium at Tejero, just meters away from the Convention. Then we will install it in the Dorm and in the evening room mate's Lance and Jan will help me do a General Clean-up of the Room.
All in time to watch a new episode of BUFFY (Dawn tries to revive mother) and CHARMED (Phoebe and Cole's Wedding).
With a little bit of freed up time, I want to study more and organize my college life. In the beginning it was too simple. Then I applied for Organizations, and in each one I passed... I stayed in. Which is quite stupid I know, so I did reject the Mountaineering mind you. ^_^
So after these organizations came into my College Life, things began to fly around. Papers in the air, running across the campus, meeting deadlines, printing programs and certificates, and of course- taking pictures.
There's a clearing and much more steady pace in the next two weeks leading towards the Mid-Terms. I want to keep it organized. I want to make sure I've fallen asleep before Midnight. I want to eat more and revive my fitness program by jogging the early dark silence of the green campus with Joel and whoever-else interested every Tuesday and Thursday AM at 4:30am.
And let all this start tomorrow.
