3Rs, 2x2s, 8x10s, and a Camera on a Digital Wishlist

I developed a film of pictures, the last film roll from my 1st Semester of College. To bring the total amount of pictures taken in that one semester to a record-breaking 190 plus. Never once I've taken that amount of pictures in a time period such as that. In High School my Freshmen Year only had 15 pictures! My Sophomore Year gave out 60-something pictures. My Junior Year lashed out a little over 120 and My Senior Year captured a casual amount (by my standards) around 230 plus.

Already 190 in the past semester. Next Semester there's the Christmas Season, Part 2 of NSTP, Lasallian Days, and a host of other great events. *cracks knuckles* "I've just got started...".

The last roll of film I developed will be the last 3R since I'm changing format to developing a much more clear and larger 4R next Semester. I'm also switching album formats... I was going for BOOK #3 but Island Photo at SM Bacoor ran out of stock of those black background, 2-cell, and comfy and casual albums.

Plus the Lady said something that 3Rs are really starting to become out-of-date and that 4Rs have attached promos like a Free Kodak Album. I went with the lady and by the facts tha they ran out of my favorite album-type and that switching to a larger 4R and receiving a Free durable Kodak-giveaway album... why not?

I also had a new 2x2 picture taken, also one 8x10 picture to add to my mom and brother's 8x10 picture taking on Sunday. It's for our Identification Cards as dependents of a retired US Serviceman. It's a small ID card... a picture would probably be 1.5x1.5 on that little card. But the "Doc", (Lance and my doctor), Dr. Fernandez of Bacoor who's in charge of the Medical and Service Needs of Retired US Armed Forces peeps here in Cavite says it has to be submitted in an 8x10 format.

Geez.

In other news... as my brother has asked for this and that from my dad who is about to board a ship in the States, I've finally decided what I want. At first all I asked my dad was a few rolls of film and a pack of Video Tapes to record TV shows and other stuff would be it. Then my mom suggested my dad send me a watch... (thank you, i really need one because I keep bothering classmate Eric for the time) ... which was cool.

My all time physical "want" is a Digital Camera. It could be the cheap kind as long as it's easy to handle and safe to manage and keep. I found one via the web... the KODAK DX-3500. It was relatively cheaper compared to those $500 dollar Digital Cameras that just want to make me faint. It's less then $200.

At Island Photo at SM Bacoor, I saw an alternate model which had a boost of features compared to the KODAK DX-3500. Just add 100 to the model number and you'd get a very nifty KODAK DX-3600. Compared to the first one, the DX-3600 can record both audio and sound in a short video clip. The previous model can just record a video clip without sound and after my high school classmate Enrico showcased to me last year... sound/audio is important in capturing the moment. It enhances everything threefold.

Every guy has some kind of Gear to get very interested in.

I was convinced with the features of the DX-3600 compared to the DX-3500 and the difference in price isn't that big. I think in dollars it's still less then $200, which would make my mom faint up to now... but only if she could understand that those really expensive Digital Cameras out there could go out to a thousand dollars which would put anyone concerned in my family of four into a coma.

I'm also studying and learning facts by comparing models, company's, and prices. I just learned today that I don't need to look for a Digital Camera that can hold regular Film in it... I can print out from the saved and stored memory of a Digital Camera at Island Photo for a 4R or any size of my choice. It will save me film... plus, no wasted shots! If I don't like a picture, I delete it. I print out only the good ones.

Oh until those days. I will treasure that camera and protect it, at the same time capture my life more clearly and with a larger and stronger flash...
