A Hook on the Heraldo

I spent today basically at home and in my air conditioned room. I fixed some of my notebooks for the incoming semester which begins this Monday, just wait for the first Carpe Noctem posting this Sunday afternoon.

We went to Church, that was the only time we left the house on this Saturday.

I revived all the Heraldo Filipino issues and LaSalleƱo's I had with me in the house. I then eyed all the by-lines. And I was left with a smile each one! I now knew 75% of who wrote this and that! I looked at the artists... and familiarized Kuya Jake, Jay, Art, and Marvin. I looked at the photojournalists... and familiarized my friend Angelo Aratan, Marnelle (I thought it was "Marnel"), and the lady I asked to take a picture of us at the stairs... Edwina (Ate Winnie).

I also found out several things.......... I've been missing out!!

I thought I was alikabok (dust) at the paper with my absence in the office last Semester due to VPAPU's hectic schedule. But then after I read that my fellow apprentices have been writing articles, and have possibly accumulated around an average of five plus that have been published already... that makes me really look like dust.

I've only had one article published and a few Aphony-ends contributions. That's it. And the article that got published is quite short, that's why there's a huge photo that balances that page in the latest LaSalleƱo.

I realized right there that I have been missing out, more than I believed at first. It pushes me harder this incoming semester to take up thrice the amount of articles I've been doing. I need to start writing for the paper! I've let go of VPAPU and I'm straight onwards for Academics and upwards for Heraldo Filipino.

Gimmie features, news, even literary...

What Hook? Oh, one of my favorites that fall in my "Circle of Favorite Movies". HOOK was on Studio 23 presents earlier while I was wrapping notebooks in newspapers for the incoming week. "Hook on the Heraldo" is my title for today's offline journal entry.
