It's a few minutes after 9 o'clock in the evening. I've been anticipating songs from my favorite radio stations (89.9, 93.1, 97.1) which I rotate through while I'm doing chores in my room. They keep playing "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence and that one song by Barbie's Cradle. They play it so much, the "Bring Me To Life", one of my favorites this March... will officially expire as one of my favorite tunes. That Barbie's Cradle song I'm starting to like, already expired today in my head. Stop playing it too much!
That makes songs like "Rise and Fall" by Craig David and "Be With You" by Atomic Kitten more exciting to listen to. I didn't hear "Rise and Fall" today, but I heard "Be With You" a few times, but not as much as "Bring Me To Life". I heard "Blowin' Me Up (With Her Love)" by JC Chasez a few times... good enough for me to start learning the lyrics now. "Rock Your Body" by JC's bandmate Justin Timberlake also resurfaced on the radio for me.
Other than songs, I've been working around the room fixing up my cabinet and cleaning some things up. I've also done some surfing on the web. I've read articles at Yahoo! and watched the news on CNN. The 2nd Gulf War has officially begun. March 20, 2003.
It's frightening because it's the first larger-scale war I'm witnessing before my eyes on television. The ones of the past were the bombing raids in Kosovo by NATO if I remember and of course the attack in Afghanistan. But those nations are kind of nothing compared to the current nation "some of the world" is fighting... IRAQ. It's even more frightening because my dad is on an oiler ship in the Northern Gulf, which happens to be the only body of water touching Iraq. U.S. and Iraqi Warships are lined up in that area. My classmate Kate's father is also near the borders of Iraq. But her father is on land and they all have their Visas and Passports and paperworks complete and ready in case they need to evacuate as well. My dad, on the other hand, is on a ship and he can't actually get off the ship until it docks in Singapore.
That brings me to this evening's biggest worry. My Yellow Course Card in Biological Science and General Chemistry. Believe it or not, but also my Yellow Course Card in Communication Arts and Skills 1 or English 101. My grade in English 101 is steady, but since it's only 60% of the total English 101 grade... all hope fails when I think of the other 40% which belongs to Intensive English or English 100. My finals there is screwed up. No solid recitation grade (absent during debate) and the interview about successful people wasn't submitted. Damn.
I've asked mom to get the driver to drop me to La Salle tomorrow morning. I don't feel like commuting. I'm also out of load, so I have to figure out how I'm going to contact my classmates or some of my dorm mates. Hopefully I arrive straight to the dorm tomorrow morning to assess their plans for the evening. I'm packing as if I'm going to "sleep over" some where. The dorm... Aldrich's house... I'll never know. If there's an outing or lakad bukas, I want to go. I'm not in to retiring back into boring Tanza.
