SPAGHETTI AND MANGO SHAKE
The Damage Report - Broadjourn Summer - End of Week #39/4
NOTE: A weekly summary of events and happenings I've experienced in and around La Salle.
"...midterm exams and destroyed roads..."
WHERE did the streets go?! The whole street from the Guard House of the on-campus dormitories all the way up to DPH and the Admin have been destroyed. Well, they're obviously going to install a new one, but it was a surprise. One morning only one side was destroyed so we walked on the other side. When we got dismissed from class we found no side to walk on. It's all brown and orange dirt.
VBH is also undergoing some changes. It's roof was removed and a new one is being installed.
Midterms took place this past week. Philosophy is slowly starting to make more sense to me. And in English102 the research paper continues into rough draft development. The midterm in English102 was very easy but the Philo103 exam was something else... the test was ok but I haven't been getting all the Philosophical concepts down correctly.
The exams were on Wednesday (Philosophy of Man) and Friday (English102) respectively.
Throughout the week we all surfed at ERS. We also started to pin down our summer plans. Ate Angge and I developed a 2-day visit of some churches in Metro Manila. May 6 and May 8, from Intramuros to Baclaran. After our classes on those days.
A Swimming trip to the coldsprings in Indang have also been planned this past week. Confirmation will be on the first two days of next week.
On Friday afternoon some of my classmates and I were invited by our 1st Year 2nd Semester Re-Ed102 professor, Ms. Marianne Planas, to go to her house inside Windward after our classes.
Shiela, Badge, Ara, Jhen, Eric, Joanna, Ate Angge, Maycee, Teenah, Jezire, Kate, Rona, Ayesha, and our new classmate in Broadjourn Enjun were present.
Some of my classmates got to cooking. Tasty homemade Pillsbury Biscuits. Spaghetti with really delicious sauce. And Mango Shake for everyone. It was a nice afternoon. I read some articles in the two NEWSWEEK magazines that were there. I also took some pictures using the camera I've borrowed from Jerson and I also used Eric's camera to get some more coverage and add some pictures to his own collection.
A few classmates went home (everyone on the Las PiƱas-bound van) while the rest stayed and played some Scrabble. I didn't play but I just watched. Ms. Planas, Jezire-Badge, Eric "Dictionary" Salta, and Teenah. The others sat back and watched as well. I treated everyone to a 1.5 Liter of Sprite that Shiela joined me to buy.
And afterwards we all went home. Ms. Planas gave me a "teacher-exclusive" DLSU-D Calendar for 2003. I'm going to hang it up in my dorm. I miss having Ms. Planas as a professor. She was outstanding. She's the kind of professor that should be featured in a television documentary. Entitled "A Professor who uplifts the lives of her students."
That ends this fourth week of the Broadjourn Summer Term.
