A White Sand Beach becomes a Future Destination

If Saturday was Lunch with my Uncle at the house my cousin is caretaker of, Sunday would be in Julugan again. Near the Fish Terminal to be exact. I just returned from Lunch at my mom's cousin's. His name is Kuya Henry and his 3 month old girl just got baptised this morning.

Since we're looking for a new car and my dad isn't here yet, I wanted to jump on the opportunity and mingle with anyone at the party who knew about second-hand cars. I asked for a second-hand CR-V or RAV-4. Under P500,000. Automatic (my mom's only demand of the new vehicle handling). Gray-Silver, Ocean Blue, or Forest Green. Model 2000 and above.

My Kuya Henry got right on it and it so happened one of the older guys at the drinking table worked at Toyota Alabang or something like that. We got a few estimates and I learned more details. My mom heard a second-hand CR-V would be around P350,000. We left the party confirming that P500,000 is the minimal we'll find for a quality second-hand CR-V 2000 Model and above, without all the added features.

It was a disappointment. But at least I got on the move. I want to do the vehicle hunting now so when my dad gets here, we go straight to buying the vehicle and I can go straight to practicing how to drive it.

We also heard a REVO was cheaper and is still one of the top rated in performance. I also found out that the RAV-4 is more of a luxury vehicle and rarely sold second-hand. Toyota Revo and Rav-4... ah ok, these two are of the same company. I'm not in for the REVO though because it's common, it's quite larger than the compact CR-V and RAV-4.

That brings us down to my Kuya Henry's offer. Even if he's my mom's cousin, he's always so active in conversations with me and my brother. Unlike, ahem, some of my other relatives on both sides of the family... it's my mom's cousin that always offers us "Want to go somewhere?". He told me [in tagalog] before we left the party: "Call me up sometime and tell me where you want to go. Just make sure you call me before the day itself."

The exact words i've been waiting to hear! I sparked like a fuse and jumped on the idea. I asked him "where?" and he said "Baguio" and I knew that was too much. I told him "somewhere you can easily drive to" and he replied "How about some White Sand Beaches in Batangas". Then he added "how about the last week of May..." and that totally clicked in. Cool! "Who will go with us?" I asked him. "You have a girlfriend?" he asked me.

Damn! A golden summer opportunity to take a girlfriend to a distant white sand beach down south and to spend time with her. But I don't have a girlfriend yet. Not yet. Sayang! I'm excited and all up for it. I now have someone to take me somewhere! Thanks Kuya Henry!
