A MESSENGER IN SUSPENSE
The Damage Report - Year 2 - Ending Week #02
Background Music: "Stuck" by S. Orrico
This entry includes Digicam Samples, however due to time constraints they will be posted at a later date.
NOTE: This is a weekly blog entry that summarizes a series of events of a finished week in and around La Salle.
SURPRISES dominated the past week. And I am saddened at some points at the same time enlightened.
Last Sunday night, I moved in and we installed new features to F3. The upper part of the curtains. Then the shower curtains. Then all three locks of mine. After my parents left when they helped with the locks... Alex and I spent four hours installing the Linolium into our room and re-arranging the things to improvise on the space being consumed. We opened up a large amount of space which is good.
Lots of eating out to do. On Tuesday lunchtime, we ate at Inazalle. All of us in the group from class. It was enjoyable. We combined three tables and enjoyed our meals while listening to comforting "cinematic" music loud in the background of the place. It was also raining outside. It was one of those moments.
On both Tuesday and Thursday nights, I ate out with "NC14" or "Abztropz". We went to Waltermart. Tuesday was KFC while Thursday was McDo.
Lots of eating at FIAT as well. We tried out Mickey's Diner once more despite the worse service anyone could get the first time we where there when Leah sang. The service was faster but the food was, in what Eric would describe, bland. I had the weirdest combination of a meal... Beef and Brocolli (i didn't see any brocolli in the beef) with Rice and a tall glass of Rootbear Float. Huh? I'm not into Rootbeer. And I try Floats' occasionally.
I felt like a Messenger Boy this past week. I've been given things to give to someone else. Eric gave me the CDs to give to Jerson. Jezire gave me three letters at different times to give to my new dorm mate (first year) Rae Kevin (R.K.) who was part of her High School barkada. R.K. replied as well so I sent that reply to Jezire.
Letters were exchanged in Reed103 on Wednesday. While on that same day, I was enveloped and ripped apart by confusion and sadness. I was the one who delivered Rona's letter to Aldrich. Two of my friends. Two of them with their points. I stressed out to both sides that they need to talk in person. It never happened though. Wednesday night I spent my time reserved for studying for a quiz and making my assignment to suddenly comfort Aldrich. I've never seen Aldrich like that before. I spent the day afterwards feeling down. It was stupid. It's not even my direct problem, but I felt so attached to his problem (and Rona's problem) that it made me problematic.
Wednesday and Thursday were sad days. My work in the Decreto suddenly had a change. Three 3-4 page articles about three issues due within two days. Ouch! I have to say, my best work won't come out when the timing is minimal. Especially with my "Writers' Depression" right now.
Friday was different. First PE class of the semester. It's PE-103... Individual / Dual Games. I wanted it to be Arnis or something, but now, it's FOREIGN DANCE. If it wasn't for the fun my classmates have with dancing (even when they seem to dislike it, they always smile while dancing)... then I would hate the subject. But since we're all in this together and there's a competition (our class is competitive)... this sounds like fun. And after finding out from Joseph Bathan of PolSci2-1... we're all combined for the competition. JOU2-1 and PSC2-1 are merged for the Mass Demonstration and Competition.
Also on Friday... Jezire, Badge, Jhen, and I ate out at Jollybee at Waltermart before having a studio picture at Mega Arts. And when I had nothing to do (we have a 3 1/2 hour break on Fridays) I went to the HF and watched as Kate, Joanna, Shiela, and Tintin took their entrance exams for the Heraldo Filipino. Hopefully they pass, so it'll be like a Broadjourn Invasion at HF. Joke. Nah, hopefully they pass so we can all work together. Para mas-masaya tayo lahat sa pagiging writer sa HF. ^_^
My mom dropped by JFH to get my Registration Form... so she can register the CR-V at La Salle. That was when I was running late for Reed103. After class, I went to my dorm and then we all ate out (the guys) at Inazalle. I was with Aldrich and Mik at a table. It was the first time ever I sat down and ate without having a conversation with those seated at the table. I was dead silent while I ate my BBQ. Instead me, I wanted to talk... but I had lost it. I felt bad for some reason.
On the table next to us was Lance and three Freshmen including Tony the Freshmen AB Comm. Joseph's brother Julius and the "latest new person I've met" Dennyboy or Den. They finished first and sat at the couch on the other side. I finished my meal and we paid. Then when I turned around, they were drinking San Mig Light. Oh. I didn't know! I thought they were just sitting down on the couches. I sat down since they were still finishing their drinks. The Inazalle guy took a picture of all of us... for their Students' corner thing or whatever. I took two sips from Lance's glass of San Mig Light (it was quarter till curfew, I didn't want to order one that late already) and at the same time there was this Indian-looking girl speaking english really loudly. Apparantly, she just broke up with her boyfriend and she was drunk. She was with another girl. Both of them dorm on-campus. The Inazalle people had to drop them to the gate.
When we returned to the dorms, it was a brownout. Because of this brownout and because of the brownouts of the past (last year)... it meant extra bonding. Heheh. I spoke with Joseph outside the gate in the darkness. The other guys were on the streets as well under the lights of Lake Avenue. We spoke for nearly two hours out there. The power came back on, and then it went out. It went out for a long time... we were inside F3.
I shared my knowledge of ghost stories and passed it onto the first years. In F5, Aldrich and Mik had a strange encounter when their door to the bathroom was suddenly found closed after it was wide open. In F3, Joseph and Tony slept over. Wait, that was after so much talking. In F3, I spoke to Julius, Tony, and Dennyboy for another hour and a half perhaps about anything we could think of. Then, when Julius and Dennyboy went to their rooms, I spoke to Tony about Buhay Broadjourn and Buhay AB Comm again. That was until four o'clock in the morning.
I found out he has been elected President of COM1-1 and that he was staying that night because he has his first screening as a keyboardist for the DLSU-D Pop Band.
The morning light of Saturday came and my articles for the Decreto were greatly postponed due to that terrible (yet bonding) Brownout. I was to submit them on Monday to Kuya JD, but Kuya JD txt'd and said he needed them ASAP since he has his own deadline by Monday for Ate July.
So, I rushed despite zero inspiration just to come out with those articles. I came up with two and the last one faded away since my pick-up had arrived. I also ran out of load all of a sudden so I couldn't contact Eric. He was at HF all that time. My pick-up came around 2 o'clock in the afternoon and I delivered my diskette with the articles on it to JFH 202 and gave it to Kuya JD's classmate in COM3-4.
I went home.
I leave the week extremely tired. Sad and happy in many ways. This is life in 2nd Year. There's no stop. There's no extra time. It's so early in the year and it's already this hectic. I can't seem to find room for fitness anymore. I think I need to start taking up vitamins like Poten-Cee or something to keep up.
