WHEN ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
Carpe Noctem (Seize the Night) - Year 2 - Starting Week #30
Background Music:
"Talk Show On Mute" by Incubus

NOTE: This is a weekly blog entry that is posted at the start of the week prior to moving into my dormitory.

"Happy 50th Birthday, Mom!"

THE AREA just below my eyes is sore and heavy and it's just plain irritating. It's linked again to that slight tooth ache I have at the far back of my mouth. These two always partner up and cause pain.

And to say I'm still trying to break out from having this cold. I still have a stuffy nose and its also irritating. I feel like my entire face is a disaster zone right now. I hide from people. Especially carefree girls with attractive smiles.

Anyways, I have to keep it short since there's no more time. I spent this past weekend trying to relieve myself from sickness and get back to work. I layed back and rested for as much as I could. Even if it was the weekend that I should've planned more.

My mom just celebrated her 50th Birthday on Sunday. I wanted it to be happy for her, and I think it was happy for her... but I also wanted good coverage of it... but then again she was there standing next to her birthday candles which her classmates from 1971 lit up... my mom wanted me to capture it in video. First, the old video camera is still broken and this one repairman told her it was fixed... which made my mom all enthusiastic... and in the end was disappointed.

Next, I take hundreds if not thousands of pictures with my own camera... and right at the moment my mom blows candles for the sake of it (50th Birthday) my camera goes low-batt and I'm there scratching my head... frustrated. Sick. And hurting.

My batchmate in High School, Rom, came over... eventually slept over as well. We just hung out listening to music and watching television. We watched "Practical Magic" on GMA-7's Sunday Night Box Office. I missed the Survivor 8 All Stars episode for this week.

There's this one really good singer who was outside, half drunk, but still going at it. Rom and I got him to sing "Lately", the classic song that I just love so much... don't know why. Don't even ask.

Food was everywhere and the Videoke machine my mom rented for her birthday was used to its full extent. How many times did kids, adults, elderly sing "Ocho-Ocho" on that thing? How about "Bulaklak" and "Spaghetti Song"? I had to increase the volume of the radio (on Stereo) in my room to counter those songs.

At least my mom enjoyed, and that's what counts.

And here I am, one week of suffering from a cold... and now from the partnership of the tooth ache and the swolen eyebag. I'm tired. I'm very sleepy. And classes resume in just a few damn hours.
