LORD OF THE TAHONGS
The Damage Report - Year 2 - Ending Week #35
Background Music:
"Slow Jamz" by Twista feat. K. West and J. Foxx

NOTE: This is a weekly blog entry that summarizes a series of events of a finished week in and around La Salle.

Part-Student. Part-dormer. Part-Investigative Journalist. Part-Tourist. Part-Activist. These are my freshest professions. Hahaha!

I have had one of the strangest, wackiest, and most memorable weeks ever in this 2nd Year college this past week. It was supposed to be a normal writer's trip thing, but I had no idea we would end up...

Marching in a rally by Gabriela (Women's Rights) last Monday! Tom and I took an air conditioned bus to Bacoor to meet our contact person who will introduce us to the fishermen of Bacoor. We arrived at the activist peaceful rally in front of the Meralco Building next to SM Bacoor.

I saw my classmate Jenie there, the irregular who shifted to Broadjourn after three whole years in Psychology. Woah. She was an active participant of Gabriela. It was just shocking, not in a bad way, to see a classmate outside the classroom and holding the megaphone sceraming "BABAE!! BATA!! BAYAN!! IPAGLABAN!!"

BTW, Happy International Women's Day last Monday. I didn't know it was such until it happened. Until I was there marching among activists and chanting in front of SM Bacoor. OMG.

It was just hysterical for me. I mean, it's another one of those moments where you say to yourself "...this is like another episode of a television show that you accidentally walked into...".

Anyways we went on Wednesday night to conduct our writer's trip. Earl Octaviano (Literary Coordinator) and Jenie joined Tom and me on this trip to meeting our contact person at Tropical Hut Hamburger in Bacoor.

The rest of this great story you'll just have to read in the article Tom and I will be making. Enjoy the pictures.
