YELLOW SUN VS. BLUE HORSE
Carpe Noctem (Seize the Night) - Year 2 - Starting Week #34
Background Music: "One Call Away" by Chingy
NOTE: This is a weekly blog entry that is posted at the start of the week prior to moving into my dormitory.
THE ELECTIONS for the University Student Council and all the College Student Councils are this week. It's all for student service in the next few days as both the students who are campaigning and the students who are campus journalists, will all be working. Like clockwork.
This year its a battle between two political parties, namely SINAG and Partido Independiente or in short, PI.
PI has been the strongest party for the past few years, ever since its creation in 2001. But in my opinion, this is the year they might be at their weakest. I don't know why I'm saying that, but it's just this gut feeling.
Specifically, let's take a look at those running for the CLASC under the PI-banner.
Aldous, 2nd Year Polsci student and ROTC officer, for President.
Nippon, 2nd Year AB Comm student, for Vice President.
Vanessa, 2nd Year AB Comm student, for Secretary.
Lailanie for Auditor.
Marlowe, 1st Year AB Comm student, for Business Manager.
Jowelyn for PRO.
Tony, 1st Year AB Comm student, for PRO.
And they say PI is powerful, look at SINAG this year for CLASC.
Aldous is up against Ella, current president of the Communication Program Council, and has perhaps a heap of support from many.
Vanessa, the girl I just met (she's from COM2-1) is up against Kuya Popo (JOU3-1) for Secretary. Kuya Popo is currently a PRO in CLASC... he's going for a position higher up the notch.
Marlowe, this guy I just met too (last Saturday) is a sure win since he has no opponent. But on the flip side, PI has no bet for Treasurer.
And of course there are four people vying for the two PRO positions for CLASC. Tony is one of the four, yes... Tony! Our Tony from the dorm... the responsible President of COM1-1 and with all the charismatic value that even the Presidential bet, Aldous, lacks.
I mentioned this in a previous post, but if Tony wins and gets his job to serve students by being a PRO... I think there's no stopping him. I see him already as a CLASC President... if ever he decides to go that far... or even further.

At eto pa... the fight for the USC!
Once again it's SINAG versus PI. For PI we have Kuya Frank, the current PRO of USC who is aiming for the top spot. We also have Deofelyn Ocayo of Star Circle Batch 3... er, she's a first year Broadjourn (JOU1-1... hehehe). She's going for Secretary.
However, the SINAG presidential bet for USC is the president of the CBASC. And word has it that she's really good... but the thing is, they haven't campaigned in our classroom.
I'm for PI, right now. I have some friends there who I believe can do the job. My loyalty sticks there. The best of luck to them.

Last weekend I spent it relaxing at the same time writing my notes in Laws of Mass Media. I slept at 4:30am on Monday morning after writing for six to seven hours straight. That's like the duration of a whole trip to Baguio from Cubao, mind you!
I watched Survivor 8: All Stars while munching down on Chicken Nuggets and Rice, with Lg. Fries from McDo. It's one of those relaxing moments you just can't forget.
With all the stress these days, it was during the weekend where I visited an oasis to just stop and breathe. Damn. I'm glad I'm at a balance.
It's March and I'm starting it off fresh.

Whaaaat?!
My brother attended his JS Prom last Sunday (it was also an overnight thing). It was his Junior Prom, though his girlfriend is all the way in 11-time Academy-award winning New Zealand.
Time flies by so fast. It felt like it was just last month when I was a 3rd Year High School student attending my JS prom. My date was Joy Icayan.

Yellow Sun? It's part of the SINAG emblem. And the Blue Horse, well there's this horse with some patriot-looking guy riding it... and the color theme of PI is blue.
Joyful Joyful....
