WE SHALL ADVANCE ONWARDS
The Damage Report - Year 2 - Pre-Summer Week #2 of 3
Background Music: "Dip It Low" by Christina Milian
NOTE: This is a weekly blog entry that summarizes a series of events of a finished week in and around La Salle.
A hectic two-day enrolment was still worth the wait
I'm feeling good right now. I think I'm in an oasis of good moods and feelings at where I stand right now. I didn't fail Logic leaving my Transcript of Records flawless of failed marks up to now. I gave just about my best in applying to become an editor at HF, no major regrets made there. I successfully enrol'd. I will be advancing a subject for the first time ever, Principles of Economics w/ LRT. It's a subject that isn't directly related to Broadjourn and taking it now gives us a more flexible schedule in 3rd Year College.
And perhaps the best of all, I bought a new pair of pants and two more polos. In other words, a guy's gotta do his own shopping and he has done it. ^_^
Back to the plot, I arrived at La Salle around 4 o'clock this afternoon. Kate had my Reg. Form, she picked it up for me when she got hers. I met her at the HF Office (first time I went there since after the Panel Interview last Tuesday). We went downstairs and Leah happened to have accomplished the add/drop form so now she's also advancing Economics. Leah and I were in line together.
Tom was with Eric and Mark passed by. It was funny when Tom called Mark's attention and Mark completely looked the other way! Weird. WORD!!
I payed 50% of my tuition this summer, which is Php 4,500. I also payed for the dorm for the month of April, which is Php 2,500. I'm glad I'm now secure on those parts.
We went around and I got the new sticker for my ID for the summer. We collected our Class Cards in the neighboring LDH and we even took some pictures.
We also took some pictures at the lawns area behind the admin building. My mom, Uncle Banny and his wife and his daughter Giovanna, and our driver Kuya Jhong were waiting on the other side of the lawns.
We just took pictures. I mean, I wanted to. I felt there was something special at that moment. Probably because I was so happy and satisfied that I enrol'd without much problem (there WERE problems, but I didn't take any of them TOO SERIOUSLY... it's not like I yelled BULLSHIT to the ITC peeps or anything... cough...).
It was the sunset maybe. Or maybe it was because ABS-CBN was there and John Lloyd and Bea were on-campus for a scene in their drama series. It was just the air. It felt so... bittersweet or in other words... it was the end of something. It was the end of the process of getting a reg. form. It was the end of the worry. It's like there's this big gap between today and the first day of classes... and that gap is the Holy Week. A time of solitude, silence, and prayer. A time of sacrifice.
We left for SM Bacoor and on the way Giovanna was singing tagalog songs. She's very talented. She's perhaps the cutest little cousin I have on my mom's side. No wait, she is! She doesn't complain. I've never heard her complain once about anything. She's very talented because she's singing tagalog songs pretty good for a little girl raised in Madrid. I thought she'd speak English or Spanish or something.
We went around the mall and at OXYGEN, I bought a pair of pants and a khaki polo. The salesman there who we also met last Monday night where I bought the white polo I wore for my panel asked what school I study in. He was asking my mom while I was in the fitting room. I heard him react and ask my mom if I knew Aldrich, Karl, Lance.
There I was in the fitting room. I smiled.
I am starting to like OXYGEN a lot now. I've grown sick and weary of Penshoppe and Bench. I walked into Penshoppe earlier and noticed from head to ankles I was wearing Penshoppe clothes! Even my pouch bag was from Penshoppe! No wonder the salesdude there kept following me around. He must've taken me as a super loyal customer of Penshoppe. Well, that's the truth. I left after I couldn't take it anymore.
Back at OXYGEN, I managed to get a 10% discount on the polo and pants I bought. I saved Php 171.80! Wow. That's a Solo B or even a Solo C meal at Kenny Rogers. All students from La Salle get a 10% discount. I'm not sure if it's DLSU-D only or good for all the other system schools.
Then at the Department Store, I bought two big albums for my digital camera prints which have been stacking up underneath my computer desk. Each album can carry 300 pictures.
I also bought a new necklace. Then I passed by the [Lee] section and couldn't get my eyes off this nice white polo with these lines and this pocket that has this japanese-like character in red on it. I asked my mom to buy it for me because I was really out of money. It would be the first time she bought a polo for me without deducting it from my bonus allowance which comes from my dad.
My thrill just got higher.
We ate at the food court. Mom and my Auntie Rema had a fit with the ladies behind the counter at Inihaw something. They didn't argue like in a full confrontation... but they were pissed off with some things. Me on the other hand? I just savored the Boneless Bangus and drank my Mountain Dew.
Before going home, mom picked up her developed pictures from Island Photo. I went into Astrovision and saw Ringu (The Ring, the original japanese version) for only Php 99.00. I was shocked! Well, people have pirated copies of this. I don't like to buy pirated, because it's kills the industry I'm probably going to work for one day.
Mom bought Paul some take-out at Wendy's, and while waiting I decided to go to Odyssey XL and buy some mini-badges. Hahaha. Why am I laughing?
I bought two of them. One that says "MEAN PEOPLE SUCK" and the other one reads COKE with a bright red background. I attached it to my Penshoppe pouch bag and it looks good. I mean, it looks more customized and new.
We went home afterwards. I was happy I got to buy things. I'm not that happy though when it comes to finances. Because I have to wait till the 15th to get a re-charge on my allowance.
I'm broke!
But it was worth it. The photo albums, badges, polos, pants, and the necklace are all worth it.
