TIDBITS OF THE MOMENT - 05/08/04

A weird, sensible dream?

I had a dream last night. I was inside this house that supposedly belongs to my family, except it wasn't our house. I remember this young girl inviting me into a room where she wanted to show me an aquarium with no water in it. She was excited to show me this empty and enclosed aquarium of little bees. I remember in my dream wanting to back away since "insect villages" give me the creeps. Next thing I know I'm on the terrace and it is surrounded with bars. I remember this dog wanting to get in because it supposedly belonged to our family. I kept looking down at the dog and at one point it finally looked up at me and acted real calm.

I woke up and it was already 10:30am, the time we were supposed to leave for the wedding of my Kuya Louie (cousin, dad's side) and his fiancee Ate Fe. My brother jumped out of bed while I was waking up confused because I had just experienced one of those dreams that are just too weird that you end up remembering them.

I took a shower but while I was in the shower my mom returned from the parlor and we were all running late for the wedding. My mom and my brother went ahead and after my shower I logged onto the internet real quick and looked up dream interpretations of bees and dogs.

Bees
To see bees in your dream, symbolizes good luck, harmony, and bliss. Bees are also symbolic of work and industry as represented by the common phrase "busy as a bee."

Dog
To see a dog in your dream, indicate a skill that you have ignored or forgotten, but needs to be activated. Alternatively, dogs may symbolize intuition, loyalty, generosity, protection, and fidelity. Your own values and intentions will enable you to go forward in the world and succeed.

My analysis is that probably seeing those bees has something to do with my new job at HF as Copy Ed. Maybe. The dog closely relates to the bees in some way.

Tangerine Wedding

On my dad's side, there are 14 of us in the line of cousins. The 14th one is a toddler while the other thirteen including myself range from 15 to 40 years old. Most of my cousins on my dad's side are in their late 20s and early 30s. And as of today, everyone is officially married to someone after me in the line-up with exception to the oldest cousin, who is a successful therapist and lives in California.

The motif was orange and it looked weird on people. Especially a few of the darker skinned ones... hehe... they reminded me of Enervon HP.

The food was great but the refreshments were even better. The humidity was just unbearable... yes, it was going to rain.

They played that old duet song "I Finally Found Someone" and it reminded me of the first time I heard it at the dorms last semester...

'I was in my dorm room listening to the radio with my earphones. The lights were off and my two room mates were already asleep. I was closing my eyes and the lines... "..we started out as friends.." just made me melt. Hopeless romantic bull again. I'm sure my friends know who I was probably thinking about at that time.'

Sweat and the summer rain

We picked up a copy of Manila Standard and The Daily Tribune at the bayan and also rented Matrix Revolutions and Master & Commander from Video City before it started to rain.

Back home I turned up the volume of the stereo while I used the home gym at our terrace. It was raining outside and the light gusts made me reminisce being on a beach in Ilocus a year ago during the CEGP convention.

I was surprised to find myself adding more weight onto some of the workout exercises. I reached 50 pounds on some of them... that's up from the 20 to 30 pounds of plates I started with when I first used the home gym two weeks ago.

That's basically what I did for about an hour and a half. I also learned a new bicep routine and an additional shoulder work out.

In the evening Roco's special was on Studio 23. I thought the idea was a great way to win the undecided votes. I'm still for Lacson though.
