The apartment
We moved into our apartment in Brgy. Paltok of Quezon City. It is on Del Monte Street near West Avenue (starts at the Petron Station). You have to take either two jeeps and/or two tricycles or just take a taxi for an average fare price of Php 50.00.
The place isn't so bad, it's actually suitable. Of the 19 DLSU-D practicum trainees at ABS-CBN, only about half will be staying at the apartment. And since everyone has varied schedules, it doesn't mean the apartment will have the same amount of occupants each day and each night.
The deployment
Six of us were assigned to ANC and I was assigned to Business Nightly. Ara, my supposed buddy, has different hours to fill in (9AM-5PM). Both of us are working as interns for the ANC Business Group which has two shows: ANC Money and Business Nightly.
Business Nightly shows every weeknight at 10:30 PM or after The World Tonight.
The EP of Business Nightly has actually inspired me. She reminds me of Ms. Joy Parohinog back at DLSU-D. Our EP does everything with grace (as I've observed). Imagine the pressures of TV production and she can still manage to smile.
She's the opposite of what I've heard from another classmate of mine regarding his EP. We've observed that the TANCR'SIX (Team ANC - Six 'Trainees') have favorable working conditions and people to work with compared to other productions where it has sounded horrific.
Identities.
Absorbing the details.
JOU4-2 Teamwork.
If only all broadjourn could take their internship with news programs or current affairs, that would be wonderful. But it doesn't work that way. And as Mr. Harold Palad used to say "You can't choose who you work with in production!"
Even if I'm somewhat alone with my OJT (this is in comparison to the buddy system that has developed with other trainees at ABS-CBN), I've managed to enjoy.
I won't forget that feeling when Ms. Susan (EP of Business Nightly) invited me to the technical booth during last Wednesday's episode. Being there felt good, it felt reassuring that I was in the right place (even if it was a business program).
I only pray that my classmates taking their OJT this Christmas Break will experience the same. I also pray for their safety.
Stairs past midnight.
