I turn into an Insomniac... and also find a problem with Organizations
In the past 48 hours, I've only had a total of 6 hours of sleep. With Joel sleeping in Jan's bed in F3 (with Jan's permission, Jan... again, didn't move in this Prelim Week)... sleeping has been delayed from an already late Midnight to an alarming 2am. I would turn off the lights at 1:15am... and then he'd say "Good night." and then we would just have a 30 minute conversation while lying down on our pillows. And... to Lance's annoyance. =p
And sleeping late bids the following...
Thursday AM
- Requirement: 5:30am at Rotonda for DLSU-D Fundraising Run. (what fundraising? i didn't see money around.)
- Woke up: 5:58am, with Jerson calling my cellphone. I popped out of bed and zoomed across the room to suit up.
Friday AM (this morning)
- Requirement: Critically required to be in Examination Room before 0800 hrs (8:00am) for hard "Kasaysayan" Prelim.
- Woke up: 7:53am, with my biological clock waking me up knowing I'm in deep shit already. I zoomed even further across the room, suited up in uniform, dashed like a mad man down the Dormitory Hall... signed out... walked swiftly to ERH... tripped over at the landing of the stairs but didn't care if anyone saw... and entered a room without a Proctor. I wasn't late. (Read then: 8:05am) *thanks ekai for the "read" thing*
Enter into the Gputz College Life... the DLSU-D School Paper
Anyways, we can connect the whole 6/48 hours of sleep trauma together with the topic and title of this entry "My priorities have just been scrambled." Remember when I joined Eric to try for the Heraldo? Then I settled it and said "I'm not going to pass, and I'm no longer interested.". Well... I entered the examination room, heaving from running... to find out from Maycee that Eric, myself, and her have passed the main test to enter the HERALDO FILIPINO.
HS: You useless scum, get outta here! / College: Congrats, you passed!
Quickly, my thoughts flashed back to me in high school. The school paper, "The Angles", my application to it three times. Only making it because the main adviser requested I make the school paper's website. I got in, and told him I was also interested in Photography. It was all going well until three events happened. (1) The really good and cool adviser dude left, the guy who finally picked me up and placed me in Angles had a bigger fish to fry. (2) I failed two subjects, a bias Filipino at the time and a mind-blowing Calculus. So sue me. That event led to being disqualified from joining the DSPC or Division Schools Press Conference or whatever. The new, and openly speaking HAPPY GO LUCKY secretly envious and plastic dude adviser, worked with those who made it in. Therefore Reason #2 is being overshadowed. And then there's #3... (3) the Attorney and the process of the paper. To me, High School felt like favoritism if I can now compare it to my college.
Still going for four when you set your maximum at two?!
So yes, I've decided even if my schedule is like two tons heavy... that I simply cannot resist working for the school paper. I felt trashed, picked out, thrown away back in High School... and now in College all these opportunities are finally opening and coming. I've decided it will go like this:
My #1 chosen organization will be the VPAPU. It made me cry, it made me feel good, it made me experience so much. Even if I've recently seen this organization might be like signing up to look like a Slave back in Egypt when they made the pyramids... I need Production skills.
My #2 chosen organization will be balanced by the AB COMM CHANNEL, which begins shooting next week by the way... and the HERALDO FILIPINO, in which I'm looking to seek out into becoming a Photojournalist or Webmaster. Taking note, I want to stay light on the School Paper. And, that I fully support my two other classmates and friends Eric and Maycee that they REPRESENT our section. Heck... we're AB BROADCAST JOURNALISM... the school paper should be our main connected organization! Of 49, only 3 in the paper? ΓΌ I hope Upper and Kuya Rheyan don't give up, 2nd sem I'd like to have them with us in the paper. Wait, I'm talking as If I'm actually in the paper. The three of us that made it will have an interview Saturday at 1pm.
Because there ain't no mountain high enough... uh, except this year
The mountaineering, although I've been requested to attend the August 7 Assembly... I've decided no matter how tempting that It's time to say NO. I want to join in 2nd year and 3rd year when I'm a little more physically fit and have less classes to worry about.
