The Damage Report - Week #10
NOTE: this is a post that is made to give a summary of events that has happened at DLSU-D during the finished week. usually posted saturday nights.
UPDATES: this post has pictures taken of some events. however, these pictures have not been developed and/or scanned yet. so please return to this entry in the next few weeks for a picture update.
It was supposed to be a stronger, more organized week. It turned out to be quite the opposite. My time management system has crashed into oblivion. It was a unique week (again)... which involved somewhere mid-week a humiliating episode of crossdressing. Crossdressing?! Read on.
On Monday and Tuesday it was practice for the VPAPU presentation for the P.A.G. - G.A. If you're still lost, I'll provide an acronym list soon. (VPAPU is the Org I'm in about Backstage Production... PAG stands for Performing Arts Group which is like an alliance of all the performing arts organizations like Teatro, Brass Band, a dance group named Pointes and Flexes, etc.... and GA simply stands for "General Assembly").
Of all the member orgs of the PAG "alliance", VPAPU is the only one that does not perform. In this General Assembly, all the recently acquired probationary members (probees) of each of the PAG members... would perform. Teatro did an amazing piece. Four of my classmates are there. Chorale has two of my classmates there, and they also sang their hearts out. Pointes has my classmate Jeremy/Jem. And I'm the one in VPAPU.
So we practiced. We wanted to surprise the PAG because we are the least involved in the actual "on-stage" acting or singing. So fellow probees pulled up a scheme to dress the probee guys in dresses and make-up. Yes, it was sickening to think of. But doing so would make it memorable to be in VPAPU before I decide to suddenly quit or something.
Two songs. The first was all-girl probees. They danced to "Whenever, Whatever" (?) by Shakira. Then would come the song that the three guys/crossdressers would perform... "Lady Marmalade" (All Saints). One of which would include me. I did not want to mention it in this blog, but this blog is a reflection of my experiences.
How is it to dress and feel like a girl? Well, to tell you. It rocks being a man. As a girl you can't tie your shoes properly wearing a short damn skirt. Sorry to girls reading this, but take it from someone who has no idea how this works.
It made me sick, it made me feel embarassed. But it was all good fun and we are PAG, PERFORMING ARTS GROUP, by the ways. Everyone is going to act stupid, silly, and weird to perform.
We performed. That has got to be one wild experience. The moment we where finished with the performance (which by the way was cut in half cause the Jatayna component system ate up our tape) I just wanted to get drunk and get laid. Anything to reduce the crazy 15 minutes wearing a skirt and some girl blouse whatever-you-call-it. I had make-up on for an hour. I was with Jerwyn of COM11 and Kuya Carlo (born in 1976) of HRM 2nd year.
There's a taste of everything I guess. Don't get green minded on me.
In Teatro:
- Jhen portrayed a young girl selling balot.
- William portrayed some bisexual or gay guy in the media.
- Arjay portrayed a crazy woman, form the media also i think.
- Athena, re-enacted the "Eggnog" commercial with the "hiccup" thing. Haha.
In Chorale:
- Leah and Jonee sang songs. It's hard to recall, they're of the sentimental songs from back then.
In Pointes:
- Jeremy performed with his other co-probees and danced the same performance as they did during our BEAU MONDE (see picture in previous "The Damage Report").
In VPAPU:
- I was with Jerwyn and Kuya Carlo and the rest of the VPAPU at Jatayna's from 6:00 10:30pm.
A wild night indeed. My ID was taken due to a curfew violation. My first of three possible warnings before getting a Major Offense. It's worth it though... not my humiliating performance to "Lady Marmalade" but worth it cause I felt part of something. Part of a semi-formal party of PAG which involved all the performing groups. Cool.
Wednesday ended.
I didn't jog on Thursday AM even after Joel came in to my dorm 4:30 AM in his jogging pants and all-set. I felt like I shut the door on his face... sorry Joel. I told him we'll just jog on Friday AM (5 o'clock AM) at the Oval.
So we jogged this morning. But I've been so tired and puyat this week that after one lap that was supposed to keep me energized the rest of the day turned out to be opposite. That one lap around the Oval this morning made me want to faint right there. I was so weak and torn down.
That's where I decided to skip a class for the first time. I decided to take my first absence wisely and took out Literature on Thursday AM (first class of the day at 7AM). I found out that If I attended, I would have been part of JOU11's major scolding by Mr. Tolentino. Ouch.
I was late for almost everything else from Thursday onwards. I'm about 2-5 minutes late for the first class of a day. My time management isn't working.
And now the weekly dose of my organizations...
The AB COMM CHANNEL will be next week and shooting/taping on Monday and Tuesday. I'll be witnessing active on-the-spot production and filming work with the Comm Channel for the first time since I got in.
The HERALDO FILIPINO and the two feature articles I'm working on have been extended by the Editor for submission on Monday instead of today. The first LaSalleno issue of the year was released on Thursday and since I now know most of those who wrote articles, features, and drew artwork... I decided to get their autographs. They laughed but did it, and others followed.
Aside from the Heraldo's "magazine", the latest Paper (released every 45 days) was supposed to be circulated this Friday afternoon. I haven't seen any yet, so I don't know what the problem is.
The VPAPU of course would give us a break after performing on Wednesday. It should be easy-easy here for quite a while now.
That leaves the rest to studying. I must now go. I'll re-edit this entry when I get home on Saturday Afternoon in Tanza. Until then, from the ERS Center at DLSU-D... this is George Putong reporting LIVE.
This entry is dedicated to my classmates with me in the ERS right now: Cindy (#83, to my left), Kuya Rheyan (#85, to my right), and Arazelli (#82, behind our computers).
TITLE IN REVIEW: If you haven't noticed, most of my titles for "The Damage Report" are either song titles or a certain lyric of a song. This week it's from Natalie Imbruglia's "Beauty on the Fire" and the title is a lyric from the song. I selected that line because this week I was organized on the surface but a wreck in the inside. And being Puyat more then ever added to this confusion. So, "Could I be lost forever?".
