Xena: Warrior Princess... concluded this evening on Star World. A series I've been watching since I was 11 or 12 years old. I recall back in those days in our air-conditioned apartment inside a U.S. Military base on Okinawa Japan... watching the first season of Xena back to back with a much more advanced Hercules. Dad would share some tasty palutan, although there wouldn't be any beer of course.
I can still sense the taste of salt and pepper with those crisp pork insides. Sounds disgusting... but the the apperance wasn't that bad and the taste was just great. I'd be watching Xena toss her Chakram and Hercules swing his sword. Gabrielle's long hair and innocent touch without me knowing she'd go Lesbo later on. Iioles or whatever you spell Hercules' side kick... fighting using the arts of the Ancient east.
Those old episodes. I watched them on Saturdays and Sundays.
Hercules ended in 1999 in an episode called "Full Circle". After Hercules ended, XENA was beefed up with greater storylines. I didn't like XENA at first, but for the past three years it started to get more intense. The scenes looked more real, had more color into it, had interesting storylines.
And it concluded this evening.
Ironically her death in the end was in the land of the rising sun itself. The episode was just bittersweet for those two. Xena and Gabrielle. I observed all kinds of effects they used for the "A Friend in Need" 2-part conclusion of the show. The music was more grand, the scenes had more camera angles and quality.
The end was great. But it saddens me to now know what happens. I haven't seen all the episodes. I've missed a few already, but now that I've seen the ending it would be a little less encouraging to catch a rerun. Damn.
And after XENA ends. MUTANT X begins. I didn't catch it due to watching the Gilmore Girls and a part of "007: License to Kill" on Studio 23. Then I decided to surf. But I did record the premiere of MUTANT X for tomorrow. From the looks of it, I don't think I'll like that show much. The fighting seens have background music that makes it really appear all comic-book. I like comic books, but I wanted a buffy/angel kind of battle with MUTANT X.
Another thing begins too. CHARMED on Star World. I saw the trailer on Star World... it's just as I predicted and had hoped for. The trailers are explosive and just amazing... and flattering for a favorite show of many who love Studio 23.
Season 5 CHARMED Casting Shots are available. I'm too lazy to upload since it's 1:30 in the morning already. All I can say is that Alyssa/Phoebe is looking different. She's looking more and more seductive and anime-like. Rose/Paige on the other hand has a different hairstyle... she's gone red! Weird. It'll take some getting used to. I mean... she's already taller then the other two, and her complexion is different. She really sticks out... which is a bad thing I think. Then goes everyone's favorite (well most of everyone)... Holly/Piper. You ask? Holly in the pictures looks exactly the same... typical. Same hairstyle, and her expression seems to be a bit bored compared to a magazine cover I saw a few weeks ago. In one picture though is an angle I haven't seen of her... she's looking all juiced up for something. I'm having a hard time describe, mind you. Sorry already.
The three have a picture with a dark maroon background and they are all seated. The controversy (my personal contraversy) here is that it reminds me greatly of the same kind of picture but with Shannen Doherty instead of Rose McGowan seated there.
I'm going to sleep now. Before I type my "Carpe Noctem" tomorrow night (er... technically later today) I think I should be finished with an upgrade to this template. Up to now I can't decide on what exactly I want, even the title change I've been thinking about. I've decided the current template is still in good working order and just needs an upgrade. That is what I'm going to do. Good night.
