A Weekly Survey Mission Down the Road

I feel good right now. I can't exactly explain how but I just do. We just returned from our NSTP-CWTSP on-location surveying from down the road to Barangay Bautista, Zone 10. I partnered up with Jhen and we conducted a survey of two families. We found out that mostly everyone from the area are really the "resettled" ones from Smoky Mountain and Tondo.

I finally had a chance to leave my problems with relatives at home. I finally had a chance to leave the school and take an intellectual and physical break. I had the chance to enter this whole different world -- the world of the Resettlement Area.

The information we're getting is really the true stuff. The "hard knock life" of the Southern Tagalog. Actually, these people are from Visayas. The family I interviewed are from Samar and Antique. They moved to Tondo, and in the mid-90s, they transferred to the new Resettlement area here in DasmariƱas.

The jeepnee rides are cool as well. A great way to start the week by hitting the ice breaker, which is to go on this "weekly semi-field trip" and get to know and get to feel a different lifestyle.

I'm at ERS for the 5 o'clock batch with Kuya Rheyan (PC #14) and Ate Angge (PC #16). The keyboard on PC #15 sucks, it has one of those hard-to-push space bars.
