In Reaction to a Poll Question at my University Website

What should RP's stand be in case war breaks out between US and Iraq?
[_] all-out support for US
[x] neutral
[_] passive

For some reason I feel like I have to react more on this question. In case a war between the US and Iraq occurs, which to me I see as a paper-thin line between explosions and extreme terrorism worldwide... that if the Philippines goes all-out to support the US then we will be a sitting target here in Southeast Asia. We have enough problems on our own and I agree with everyone else who thinks this way that we need to concentrate on "fighting our own demons" rather then fighting someone elses'. However, I also believe we shouldn't be passive. We can't ignore what the US does, what they do has an effect on everybody somehow.

We can show our moral support and agreement to the United States, but being completely hand in hand with them on the front lines won't do any of us any kind of good. We got bloody terrorism getting closer to where we live each and every day. Some sniper could be lurking around the corner and we don't know it. God forbid, a bomb could be left on the back seat of a baby bus. Or in a Shopping mall such as SM Bacoor. What if one day we hear on CNN this horrifying line... "In the Philippines, a bomb exploded in a shopping mall south of Manila."

We have our own problems to deal with. Let's be neutral, carefully agreeing with the US at the same time being cautious that we don't ignore them and the crisis of the future. And on a last note, I personally believe Saddam be stopped now because if we don't do anything in our day and age, our children will be burned brutally to death by the light of some Nuclear or Chemical bomb.
