A few Moments of Solitude

3rd Day of the exams. Biological Science has finally splashed into the toilet bowl and I flushed it down three times. Is that disgusting enough for you?

While my classmates took up their Pagbasa (FILI123) exam, I retreated to the dormitory to print out Leah and my BioSci reports. She was assigned to classify the Orange, and I was assigned to classify the Garlic.

*flashback*

Last night, 11:59PM.

I spent hours just researching for a few stupid terms to fit under PHYLUM, CLASS, and ORDER of this stupid Garlic! It rendered my reviewing for my least favored subject (BioSci) useless as I frustrated in front of Alex's computer in Room F6.

I went into my room at around 2 o'clock in the morning, opened the "Book of Ching" (BioSci faculty made a book for students), and fell asleep on top of the book on my bed. Just like that.

*Flash*

Suddenly I was torn with so many tasks like some simulated man in "The Sims". I ran an errand for Kurt, to get one cup of rice in a plastic container since he was wearing pambahay (house clothes). At the same time classmates Krystelle and Joy were calling for my dorm mates Alex and Aldrich. For Alex they wanted to collect the scanned pages of a book on diskette. For Aldrich, they were to bring him to, ahem, the girl in my class that he's so into.

And to top that all off, I had to rush to a meeting about the Christmas Party which I have been so excited for.

*Fast forward*

After circling the Kubos searching for any large number of students gathered around a table, I encountered nothing. I went into OSH 104 (classroom of the Filipino exam) and saw about 1/6 or 1/7th of my class just slouching in their chairs like it was a depressing hot Summer afternoon.

The party at the Diaz Residence, is cancelled.

I was greatly disappointed. They were just waiting for some hand-outs for our last exam tomorrow which is Chemistry. We found out that there wearn't any hand-outs so everyone got up and dispersed. Some went home, some went to 7-11, while I decided to go with Ayesya to Apple's dorm outside.

I walked with Ayesya and arrived at Apple's dorm. I went inside and joined the Triple A's with the addition of Ara. AAA is going to Festival Mall.

At 7-11 we encountered Tina talking to Emil's mom. Emil has been sick the past 48 hours. Emil's mom just kept smiling when AAA and myself joined Tina. AAA and Tina proceeded to the Bayan. Our Class President would go shopping at Robinsons and she did ask me to join her. But for some reason, I didn't feel like going since I didn't have money for the mall at that time.

That's where I spent an amount of time, by myself. I'm usually with someone all the time, but this was one time I finally had to myself. Not that I wanted a moment just to myself... but I felt sort of forced into being alone for once.

I walked under the sun and on top of the rocky sides of the road towards good ol' Brejanah Cafe and I ordered a Chixilog. I took out Tina's compiled hand-outs for Chemistry and reviewed a few notes while I waited.

I sat there thinking about the party which was cancelled. I was really depressed. I watched the jeepnees rush down the road in front of the Cafe. I glanced at the grey walls of the extension of JFH which lies in front of Brejanah Cafe inside the campus. I had a moment to myself to think, to review where I was at, where I was sitting, and what I was doing.

After Brejanah Cafe I proceeded to K-Stuff to buy some Christmas Wrapper, two small gift-cards, and a gift for the bunot at HF "Something Hilarious". What I got isn't exactly hilarious, but it has this smiley face and it lights up... I'll present it in a way that is funny... I have to brainstorm for a moment...

I was returning towards the campus when I got cut-off from crossing the road when the traffic enforcer resumed the traffic. I didn't want to just stop there staring at the other side, so then I kept on walking for some reason. I passed by Yahweh's Cave (photocopy shop) and saw Ms. Planas (my Re-Ed2 professor) handling some papers and discussing something with her co-worker there. She was busy so I just passed by and then I decided to head straight for 7-11.

Inside 7-11, I had nothing to buy! I just went inside for no reason. I went around the edges of the shop until I heard someone call my name. It was Jessica Fenol (Badge) and Jessica Mendoza (Jezire, has a new blog if you click here). I was shocked because I thought everyone of my classmate had gone off now, but then they were just there.

The mystery is, what led me in there? I had nothing to buy...

I stuck with them as they finished their donuts and slurpees and we reviewed the Christmas Party that was cancelled. I found out afterall that the Party is cancelled, but in it's place for sure is an outing to Glorietta or to some place in Manila. Badge was sure to go and Tina did mention something like that but I was too depressed to here or something. It's exciting. Jezire said it would be better at Festival so we could enjoy the rides. And I added that the ultimate last resort to celebrating the X'mas season in case all these plans fail (again) is to go bowling at Robinsons Imus. But i'm sure we'll go to Manila tomorrow afternoon... more on this later.

Jezire went home and I decided to take Badge to her dormitory down the eskinita. It did feel good to finally speak to someone and end my school day with some conversation rather than just "disperse". After that, I went back on-campus. Kuya Eric (Managing Editor, HF) and I encountered half-way while crossing the road. I delivered Leah and my BioSci assignment to the Biological Sciences department, which Kuya Jay of my former affiliated org VPAPU, gave the directions of just as he was there at ERH.

So the BioSci have their own department, eh?

I handed it in and proceeded towards ERS where I logged in and got #33 (by the window). But it was still 15 minutes away, and the lobby area outside ERS proper was filled with students (not crowded, but each seat had someone in it already).

I walked down the steps heading aimlessly out. I had no where to go, but I just kept walking. I found myself walking towards the Chapel where I lit a candle and said some prayers.

To my classmates in Broadjourn, a safe journey home today.
To my family, take care and I'll be home this Saturday.
And finally one for myself, to concenrate well on studying for Chemistry.

I sat down inside the church for a while longer in silence.

Afterwards I went to ERS and started typing this entry... a few moments with just myself has been a few drops of healing the soars and stress of the past few days... this has got to be one unique afternoon.
