A WILD WEDNESDAY AND A TIRING THURSDAY

Lance was patiently inside McDo Tanza later that morning after I made the previous entry. We commuted on-board this tiny truck (but it was still a PUV) which blew wind. We arrived in Trece and from there got on-board a Dasma-Bayan. From Dasma-Bayan we took an Area C to get off at UMC. Lance went to get his class cards while I entered Bon-a-friendz (that feel-at-home canteen in front of UMC) where I met Ben Lim and Len.

The Tropa

Ben is a cool person. He's the glue in this "tropa" he's formulated. The tropa is entitled "Abb's Tropz" and is headed by "Ninz" or Niña of A4 on-campus dormitories. Gaile, Abbey, Niña, Len, Ben, Karl, Brian, Basil, Aldrich, Lance, Joel and myself formulate this "tropa". Gaile was running for Business Manager for KALASAG (a party for COSSC), but she didn't make it. Abbey, whom the "tropa" is named after is Joel's classmate in PolSci. Abbey and Len are shifting into Broadjourn, well, they want to. Niña is a PT student I believe, interest of Karl? Ben is the 2nd Year Psych going AB Comm if he stays in La Salle. Very good communicator. Very funny, very loose, the "tropa" kind of person. Of course, that leaves the three Kuwaiti-raised guys: Brian, Basil, and Karl. And then the three US Military Bratz: Lance, Aldrich, and myself. Plus Joel of course, whom Ben says "is equal to half the votes of the tropa" since Joel's words are gold.

Um, ok.

Once again, this isn't exactly the "tropa" i didn't know I would be entering. I believe I see myself as an "orbiter" in this group. I wasn't there at the foundation of it. It formed on "February 14 2003". I was out with my classmates Rona (together with Aldrich), William, and Joy that one night. But Ben, Lance, and the rest of them were with their dates. Ben says "14" is the monthsary of the tropa.

I don't want to back out of it or totally abort this membership I have with the tropa. Inside, I know I don't exactly feel "at home" with this tropa... but since Ben (the "great communicator") makes me feel so included no matter what the circumstances, I'm giving it a shot.

Anyways, after Lance and Ninz finished at UMC, they joined Ben, Len, and myself on the commute back to La Salle. Before getting in the jeepnee, I bought a Kodak Max 400 24-shot film. I'm wondering if this will be the last roll of film I'll be buying before the arrival of my Digital Camera.

At La Salle, we went straight to the dorms. And found no one. Absolutely no one. Aldrich, Karl, Brian, and Basil (the on-campus male dormers who've stayed dorming inside way after school finished) were no where to be seen.

Ben was angered. I was confused.

We both took out our cellphones and tried to contact these guys. We had the impression they were getting ready at the dorms for the "tropa outing" that Ben had planned. I was frustrated since I had been txting these guys for two days and I barely got replies. Barely.

We found out that they were coming from Manila! That was insane. Joel was already on the way to Festival Mall, while Gaile was well on her way to Festival from Laguna already. Abbey was also on her way. Meaning, Len and Ninz knew we had to get moving. Len, Ninz, Ben, and myself decided that we go ahead. Lance volunteered on waiting for the guys to return from Manila by staying in La Salle.

Ben, Len, Ninz, and myself got on-board a jeepnee to the High Way and waited for a van at the waiting tent. We waited for a few minutes since their wearn't any vans. When one came, "the great communicator" instantly reserved the back seats for the four of us.

Len and Ninz played with this girl's soft black hair in front of us. Ben and I got stirred into a conversation on the Iraq war. We were the only ones talking throughout the trip as we passed by Carmona... passed by Southwoods... went down the South Luzon Expressway... up until Festival.

We met Gaile at herbench/ and Len and Ninz went to buy Gaile a stuffed bear that Gaile named "Joel". Joel arrived and we all ate at McDo near the Carosel. Abbey arrived as well after we finished. We all headed upstairs to see the movie skeds. We were to watch "Just Married" although I preferred a more Oscar-themed movie such as "Chicago" or a darker movie such as "Dreamcatcher".

We waited for about an hour before the movie began. The girls headed one way, while Joel and Ben and I went door to door at some Comics Place. Their hobbies... Joel easily slid into a group of people like him. You know. Long sleeves or short sleeve shirts, baggy pants, sporting a big bag behind them and a cap. Those bags carried Card Books. Name them. Magic cards... Mage Knight figures...

My hobby would be found somewhere else. We didn't stop by any Photo shop or anything. I was content just hanging with Ben and Joel. At least these two guys make sure I'm still with them. Unlike *cough* Aldrich *cough* and *cough* Karl *cough* last Sunday.

I also ran into Kuya Jay, a recently graduated student from DLSU-D. He was the Art Editor of the Heraldo Filipino this past year. We encountered each other in front of the third Hobby Shop that was there.

We all went into Cinema 7 and watched "Just Married". It was an okay movie. Only one scene made me really laugh... the cockroach on the guy's face inside that old and ugly French Hotel. That was funny. The other jokes were just light jokes to me.

After the movie, we found out that Lance was at Sbarro with the other guys.

Karl, Aldrich, Basil, and Brian knew I was over at the dorms last weekend hoping we'd all go out somewhere fun. They tell me that they're broke (except Basil, who was cool). I didn't argue. I left on Monday night and find out that on Tuesday these guys went to Rockwell. I heard they suddenly got money. And they didn't tell me. They invited Joel and Joel went. They invited Ben, but Ben couldn't go. They could have at least asked me.

I wasn't in the exact mood to talking friendly with Aldrich, Brian, and Karl. They did party and shop at Rockwell, a place I've never been to yet. We went to Sbarro and Ben knew my problem but I told him to just keep his mouth shut. Ben, being the seemingly kindest friend towards me in this formulated "tropa", refused to keep his mouth shut about my problem. He knew I've had enough and he made sure "he'd talk to them.". I left Sbarro since I wanted to keep away from those guys for a while. Joel was with me.

When we all met again about an hour later, Karl suddenly gave me this huge hug. Aldrich approached and said something I couldn't remember, and Basil also made this huge apology. I stopped Basil, and said to him "You didn't do anything Basil, don't worry. You've always been cool towards me.". He looked at me and breathed a sigh of relief as he went back towards Gaile.

Amidst the "apologies" I still wasn't in the mood into talking with Aldrich and Karl. Brian, on the other hand, received cash and he could of at least txt'd me they were going somewhere on the day I left the guys (Tuesday). I hated being in conflict. I've been in an off-on conflict with Aldrich the past three weeks and with Karl, it makes nothing easier. I hate being a sensitive Cancerian sometimes, but this is me.

We had a studio picture taken and the guys hung out at the arcade. It was already getting late.

Everyone went home eventually except the on-campus dormers. Lance, was worried since he received news from his sister that a house in his neighborhood was on fire and his house was in danger. Not to add that during that morning while we were on the way to La Salle together, he got txt that he's going to Baguio all of a sudden. Lance, from my perspective, had the weirdest Wednesday.

Aldrich and Karl finished up more tokens on "Para Para Paradise 2nd Mix", which they are basically mastering by now. Basil took Gaile home. Brian just watched. Joel was also hanging around.

We all went home after Joel took us from one parking lot of the mall to another inside his SUV with a soldier driving it. We all got on board another SUV transport bound for DASMA/LA SALLE. I was in the back with Karl. Brian, Aldrich, and Lance were in the center.

The trip home was dizzy... I was riding sidewards. We got off at the main Gate. I suddenly noticed that Inasal was still open, it was almost 10pm! I was thanking God that he still made a hot, delicious, barbeque dinner available just meters down the road. I invited Lance and we both ordered at Inasal just like the old nights' a few weeks ago during Broadjourn Dormers Night Out.

We had take-out and ate at the dorm. We both slept in F5 since F3 was abandoned already.

Aldrich, Karl, and myself enjoyed a meal in F5. It was "my turn" to do the dishes, and not only the dishes we used for our past-midnight snack... but all the dirty dishes in F5. Usually, I would be insulted as "guest" to suddenly wash all the dishes. But I didn't argue. It was "my turn" by the way. I wouldn't like them to blame me that I didn't do anything. I wanted to use cleaning 25 minutes of dishes as credentials for a future application that "i did something."

And from there... it was Thursday.

A Thurday without a Morning

Read on cellphone clock: 1:15pm

I woke up to find that Thursday morning never existed.

Trip to canteen to get "breakfast": 3:45pm

My eyes were heavy as I weakly stepped into the Chinese Food Castle and ordered a Sweet and Sour Pork for Takeout. I enjoyed it and soon found out we were going Bowling at Robinsons.

We commuted and for once I wasn't moody or conscious. While on the jeepnee, I was realizing that I probably knew what my problem is the past few days.

A bad case of being Dormsick

It's my classmates. Yep. Broadjourn. My heart is so balanced and so healthy when I'm laughing in the company of them. The little jokes to the times we'd eat at Square Canteen. The walks with Eric and Maycee to the Heraldo Office. The greetings at the dormitories to Argent, Mark, Kurt and them. The friends I've met this past year that I greet and get greeted from down that acacia avenue.

My life in College has been balanced. No one can say I am turning into a feminist guy since 80% of my class are girls. Why? I dorm in a Men's Dormitory and chill out with the guys a lot still. I have academics. I also have orgs. I write for a paper, I promote for a channel.

But what happens when I'm suddenly unprepared emotionally, physically, and mentally when things change? Academics are cancelled for three weeks. Heraldo Filipino is on a "break" somewhat. The Com CH is doing light-shootings. And the worse change of all... the dorm. Not having a dorm. When going home to Tanza is the only home to go to. Tanza's location is so off-the-main road. In Dasmariñas and in the dorm, it's living in the center of all my businesses. But living away from the center of everything is killing me.

I never prepared so this is how I feel. I'm moody and challenged. I'm confused. My hatred of commuting alone doubles my stress. It easily makes me return to my High School bad habits. Waiting for someone to come home with me. Asking someone to come home with me.

This is the backlash of dorm life. When your dorm gets pulled away from you suddenly and you aren't prepared to handle the changes, you get emotional.

A few Zeros in Bowling turns into a Strike at the End

We met Aldrich's classmates Vanessa and May Ann. Brian, Aldrich and Vanessa formed the other lane. While Karl and I formed our lane. May Ann didn't play. I haven't gone bowling since 2nd Year High School when Nikki took us to Orchard. I couldn't hit any pins during my first five rounds! It was crazy. The ball just kept spinning the wrong way. I slowly adjusted and at the end of the game, I hit a Spare. And on my very last ball, I whispered to myself "for my classmates in Broadjourn"...

and BAM!! I got a Strike! Awesome!! Even the two girls I just met (Vanessa and May Ann) clapped and cheered since they knew how I was fairing out in the beginning.

After bowling, we ate at the Food Court and then the guys (Aldrich, Karl, and Brian) did a little shopping. I was with Brian this time (something new) and Brian bought a cap and a polo just like that. Karl and Aldrich were trying on jackets at Penshoppe. Aldrich got to know the name of the Penshoppe saleslady and got a discount (since Aldrich always buys at Penshoppe Rob Imus). Now, Aldrich knows several names of people from different stores. Like some Angelica from Penshoppe Festival. Nakakainget... no, not the popularity. The discounts he can get!! I'm shy to ask since I'm not exactly that much of a frequent buyer.

Thursday night enveloped our plans as we got off a jeepnee in front of SM Bacoor. We got on a Babybus (first time I saw Karl and Brian on a babybus) and traveled to Aldrich's house. That sound a babybus makes, ya know, that chirping sound... made me reminisce High School days. I want to dedicate my blog template into a Babybus theme one day... I'll wait for a Digicam.

We ate at his house and then rented movies out at Video City Gentri. After that, we went to my house around 11pm and then moved into Paul's room. We watched the following movies in the following order.

"100 Girls"
- i think Karl rented it. a stateside dormitory and some guy's ambition to learn the importance between the two sexes and why they have sex.

"Ocean's Eleven"
- i had no idea that the opening scene at the poker table was really a "The WB" treat with Holly Marie Combs (Charmed, Piper), Joshua Jackson (Dawson's Creek, Pacey), and Barry Watson (7th Heaven, Matt) were there. great movie.

"Dracula 2000"
- i fell asleep after the opening credits...

We also rented "Cube", but we all fell asleep. "I told you guys we'd fall asleep after two movies..."

It was then Friday morning. They left no more than 15 minutes after they woke up. And that was it.
