A Lunch in Julugan and Some Music Videos

Just got back from my Uncle's house. He has arrived from the states for a one month vacation. He's my favorite Uncle because he's very nice to my mom and always talks to her and councils her. I miss him too. He has always lived in the Philippines until he had the chance to live in the states with his wife and join the half of his children that live in California. We're happy for him, he deserves to finally see how wonderful the United States is.

It was a Lunch at this compound that my cousin (and his son) is caretaker of. We went home while my mom stayed. We will get picked up in less than an hour to go to church at the Bayan.

I've just watched two new music videos. "Fighter" by Christina Aguilera was a very big surprise. Black hair, gothic-themed, and moths everywhere including her! Woah. I saw the NBA Playoffs version of her video... which makes more sense because that version features key dunks and slams of the past NBA season done by top NBA stars. I'm ok with the gothic version though, it's something new and something surprising rather than the same old blonde girl dancing again and again.

The other video I saw was Madonna's "American Life" video. I heard it was postponed from being released since the original video of the song might seriously offend the Armed Forces of the United States. The video I saw was Madonna in some kind of Military attire and the flags of all the different nations in the world waving in the back. I honestly liked the video. The imagery effects and angles they used on Madonna were interesting. The flags in the background, I can't tell if it's a good thing or a bad thing. But when I saw the Philippine Flag on it's turn, it felt good inside. Heheh. If I recall, the last two flags they showed were Iraq followed by the United States.

I think the original video was way different. I heard on E! News that the original video involved her in some battlefield was it throwing a grenade and lighting up a smoke? I'm confused. But I know that the original video would have greatly offended the U.S. Armed Forces during the recent War in Iraq. Good thing Madonna herself, not anyone else working with her, made the right decision not to release that original video.

Of other songs, everytime I hear Jennifer Lopez's "The One" it makes me wish I was experiencing Sun, Sand, and Summer at a white sand beach. Surrounded by all my friends jamming to the music at the beach. I haven't been to a beach or swimming pool yet this summer.

That's all for now.
