SEASON OF FIREWORKS
Carpe Noctem (Seize the Night) - Year 2 - Start of Week #04
Background Music:
"I Want You" by Thalia feat. Fat Joe

NOTE: a weekly entry that is posted before moving into the dorm inside La Salle. Includes thoughts and ideas at the start of the week.

ANOTHER weekend has passed by and another school week is up ahead. What a dull introduction sentence. I can't think of anything else to say. The past weekend was spent in my room trying to stay cool with the air conditioning. Saturday I saw the carpenters and other workers work with the electricity and flooring of the house. Today, they fixed up the bed frame which has been slouching since forever now and I saw them make these metal bars for the side-door of the house.

Other things in the works are the terraces. Now that the floorings inside the house are almost finished, the next project are the terraces. Both terraces. My parents made the order for those cement moldings you find in typical terraces here in the country. They also made an order for the sliding "french doors" terrace. My brother's basketball court is finished and just needs painting. It isn't the real kind of court, but the kind of court made for a house. Most of the lawn before is a cement today.

I've been looking at past issues of the La Salleno of the Heraldo Filipino. I've been looking for inspiration in writing the next HORIZON section article "Perversions of Divine Will" and I've also looked at past works under the PERSONA section. I'll be interviewing Mr. R. Santiago from the SocSci department. Never seen him before, but heard much from him.

Badge's Birthday is on Tuesday and so is the start of the month of July. It's already July, time flies so fast. Advance Happy Birthday Badge.

And now, the four pillars.

Academics. This is the week prior to the preliminaries. I badly need to recite and open up. All quizzes and long tests are sure to be tossed out this week including one in Constitution. I've set a new standard (aka absolute mininum) grade to be no less than 2.00 in the PRELIMS, no less than 2.25 in the MIDTERMS, and no less than 2.50 in the FINALS. I hope I can live up to that. I think I can, there aren't any math or science subjects. The only possible problem cases would be found in Retorika.

Heraldo Filipino. Layouting and Proofreading are this week. I want to proofread so badly. I don't know why. I want to eliminate as many mistakes and errors I see as much as possible. My work this week is mostly concentrated on the next La Salleno. My two articles (Perversions of Divine Will under HORIZON section and About Mr. R.Santiago under the PERSONA section) are due on Tuesday already. All effort will now be aimed towards my home section which is FEATURE.

AB Comm Channel. A general assembly will be held at the CVR tomorrow at 2pm. All the conceptualizing will be this week if not already the first stages of the shootings and tapings. I hope I can throw in more suggestions and concepts. I've already suggested an "It's My Life" video about a member of the admin. Hopefully Mr. H. Palad agrees with that.

Dormitory. The dormitories have shaped up. Now I just need to maintain things. I haven't met the guys of A3 yet (we're F3, the room opposite our back window). That's all I can for now.
