A DEBUT IN SILANG
The Damage Report - Year 2 - Sembreak Week 1 of 3

NOTE:
This is one of three weekly blog entries that summarizes and concludes a week during the Semestral Break.

COURSE Card Distribution concluded the week-long affair with Final Fantasy X. I spent most of the past few days playing FFX as if the game would expire tomorrow.

You can read posts previous to this to get details of what happened this past week, the first week of this three-week semestral break.

My high school batchmate Rom came with me to Ara's debut. We picked up Aldrich at his house and then sped into Silang, Cavite and into Ara's house. There, we waited for a while. I was the host but my co-host Ate Angge was sick, so she couldn't co-host with me. Instead, classmates Ayesha and Badge took Ate Angge's spot.

I rehearsed for a few minutes and we waited for Ara. Suddenly a van rolls up front and inside it are a bunch of my other classmates, including Eric who said he wasn't going but then he suddenly appears. Even more suddenly than that was when the front passenger seat door opened with my dorm mate Joel and his high school best friend Alex (who I last saw on the Baguio Trip last April 2003). What a surprise! Ara made her way to this vehicle and then the caravan began from her house to this location in downtown Silang.

The food was delicious and my hosting, well, wasn't that bad for a host that didn't have time to rehearse in general beforehand. Plus, the ordering of the 18 Blue Roses, 18 Candles, 18 Gifts were a mess... and it was because of Ayesha, Badge, and myself that we got it sorted out. I've only played host twice in my life. Once during the Miss Atheneum 2002 Pageant in my high school, which was a total wreckage backstage. And then now at Ara's debut. In both, I was never given proper time to rehearse.

I introduced Rom to everyone and the rest of the party was quite relaxed. No swimming pools and billiards tables, but just simplicity and Ara's strict parents. This was the fourth "Official" Debut I've attended.

In other notes of this debut, it was the venue of the first time I had a sip of brandy. Yes, it does leave that warm feeling in your throat.
