I WANNA DANCE LIKE POINTES
Carpe Noctem (Seize the Night) - Year 2 - Starting Week #24
Background Music:
"Gotta Get Through This" by Daniel B.

NOTE: This is a weekly blog entry that is posted at the start of the week prior to moving into my dormitory.

I'M dedicating this week's Carpe Noctem to the Pointes N' Flexes Dance Company of DLSU-D! Congratulations to them for defeating the three-week champs Ateneo Dance Company last Saturday at noon on SOP Rules! My classmate in JOU2-1, Jeremy, was among the dancers. My other classmate in Teatro Lasalliana, Tope, was in the audience cheering with the rest of the Performing Arts Group (PAG) which was there to support the Pointes. Altrinth, a friend in Pointes, was also there cheering.

Seeing them dance just made me want to dance! Awww... I wanna take up Dance lessons!! I swear, I've always wanted to learn how to smash that stiff, aloof, and clumbsy body of mine and break into jazzy... hip hop... good ol' dance.

I managed to get myself some screencaps of the Pointes on SOP. They will be performing next Saturday to retain their title, that means more shouting and more support for DLSU-D.

Anyways, certain things have entered my head recently. The tropa has a surge of internal problems right now. Nothing that will defeat the integrity of everything and everyone, but the little things that bother us.

The tropa has also had it's new influences with my life in JOU2-1, and vice versa. The interaction between the two is increasing. Increasing dangerously?! Nah. Hehe. I don't want to dwell on that issue much. A newly formed and stable relationship near me that just leaves me happy for them is suddenly attacked when a third party friend of mine shows up and stuns the show.

It's been cleared, somewhat. I don't forsee anything seriously damanging from that. In relation, this third party person plans on spending more time with the tropa now after weeks of absence.

My best friend is facing a decision that will change his life. I have the original initiative to lead him the right way and talk to him about it... but there's that part of me that knows no matter what I say or do to help him out on deciding, he won't listen.

The only thing keeping him here is just one thing, if I'm not mistaken. I hope that isn't the basis of his entire decision if he chooses life in the homeland or life in the hurricane.

I admit I'm behind now. In the Heraldo Filipino, I don't have any submissions yet. The writers' trip with Eric is the only LS article I have. For the Broadsheet, I have no definite assignments.

This past 3-day weekend, I've been spending it at home. I've been a friendster/internet addict. I now have 158 friends on friendster and I do want to add that 90% of them are people I really do know... it's not like I grabbed these friends for the sake of friendster... what I'm saying is that the great majority of the 158 friends are people I know and talk to.

Half-finished foods liter my desktop in my room. I'm typing from my brother's room right now to get away from it all.

I've been bouncing between friendster and Wearechildrenofatheneum.com, which is the grand website for students and alumni from Atheneum, which is the HS I graduated from in March 2002. I've been made Site Admin by Kuya Jay (OOC Joy Icayan's brother) and just today (Monday) he granted me my very own webspace. I'll be using this webspace for the time being until I can establish myself my own webspace. Thanks Kuya Jay!

So much work to do, I've procrastinated all weekend with useless things. I guess this is my leisure time. I must return to work. I have so many case analysis to get to work on. I have exams to study for next week. Notes to copy, lectures to recollect... a hassle!

And maybe this week, my first bottle of San Mig Strong Ice. WAAAAAH PAKKK!!!

Academics/JOU2-1. Catching up on both notes and lectures. Case analysis in Laws of Mass Media. Quizzes and other sorts in all subjects are expected. Our reporting in Animal Farm's Chapter 7 is finished, yehey.

Heraldo Filipino. Layout and Proofreading. Things are on-schedule here. Nothing is super delayed as far as I know. A Christmas Party will be happening during the Christmas Break. I'm excited to attend. It should be fun. I hope everyone is there.

AB Comm Channel. Communication with the Comm Channel has been blurry lately. Shootings and tapings due next week haven't even be started yet?! This is suicide. I think it's safe to say now, that the AB Comm Channel isn't active at the moment. Maybe some people are active, but the organization as a whole isn't active lately.

Dormitory/Tropa. This is the nightlife I experience. An episode of snatching happened to Abbie last week. Luckily, nothing was snatched... but the attempt was there and the trauma is there. Since the sidewalk to Waltermart by Aguinaldo Highway remains damaged and under re-construction... and since it's the Holiday season... crime rates have reached their peak. No eating out over there is my recommendation unless we have a car to drive. Night outs' in front of the University will be ok. Around the tropa, well... nothing much is expected. A certain romance might bloom... I don't know... sheesh.

More power to the POINTES AND FLEXES DANCE COMPANY of PAG! Viva Performing Arts baby!!!
