THE THREE MINUTE FEATURE
Carpe Noctem (Seize the Night) - Year 2 - Starting Week #28
Background Music:
"Hold On" by Good Charlotte

NOTE: This is a weekly blog entry that is posted at the start of the week prior to moving into my dormitory.

CIVILIAN clothes all this week for all the students of our University. For most universities and colleges out there, it's a normal thing. For us, it's adjusting and forcing us to buy more clothes!

I have a healthy mix of both new and recent clothes to wear this week.

Anyways, it's the 2004 Lasallian Days and our school will be the host campus for the "LS2k4" on Friday which will involve thousands of visitors from other La Salle campuses.

Homemade Editing Facility

Anyways the past weekend has been blurry. Let's just say I didn't sleep Saturday night because from Saturday afternoon up until 7:20am on Sunday morning... I was up editing footage from three ENGs (Electronic News Gatherer's aka Video Cameras) using this digital video camera softwear which I installed on Paul's computer.

Jhen and Eric spent Saturday night and helped out a lot. I appreciate them for joining me for the Post-Production.

Picture this: Nearly 16 hours of editing footage JUST TO GET a three-minute long music video feature of the FA Concert. 16 hours for a 3-minute thing. Now I get the feel of what the AB Comm upperclass mean when they describe making 15-minute telesines as a NIGHTMARE.

We finished and I was just so excited and addicted to watching the end product, which isn't bad for a first timer when editing footage using a computer! Haha. It was fun and it was exciting.

I wish I had the space and technology to show you what we created for our three-minute music video about the FA Concert. It just rocks. I'm excited to submit it ahead of the others! It's the first time I finally had that drive to achieve something in Academics to that stature... and it felt good.

Dad leaves for abroad again

Dad left on Sunday past lunchtime. He was with us during the whole Holiday Break 2003 and now he's returning to Hawaii. He'll be there and wherever that ship goes until around April (basically this summer). We dropped him at the airport. We have a new driver (family friend) by the way since Kuya Jhong is still in Cebu.

Then I hope he's really considering taking his family out of the Philippines for a week for the first time in half a decade... Singapore. ^_^

The picture above has got to be one of my most favorite pictures ever taken. I don't know why. But I mean, the meaning of this picture. Dad's leaving mom to work abroad so he gives her this kiss at the airport and I decided to capture it. Heheh.

Sigh. On the way home we dropped by SM Bacoor and I bought three CD-R's and two more video tapes. I was returning back to depressionland again once the thought that now that my dad was out of the country, I now have to resume my responsibility as the "Man of the house" and protect people here. When my dad was here, I could do anything and be more free... even reckless. But now, I have to be more security-minded.

Academics/JOU2-1. I really hope the professors let us out and enjoy Lasallian Days because right now, my mind is still not in the mood for studying. I need some rest.

Heraldo Filipino. News articles are overdue (arrrg), a News Feature to submit with Kate, and showing up at the office throughout the week should be nice.

AB Comm Channel/ISA. They've had a series of meetings (Comm Channel0 but I haven't been able to attend. With the ISA, they are throwing an International Food Festival for Lasallian Days.

Tropa/Dormitory. Sigh. If things could just be normal for a week. If things could just be predictable for a week. If things could simmer down. If things wearn't so complicated. Sigh. For the dorm itself, I'm preparing it for open house of course.

A Petition in our Prayers for Peace, Prosperity, and Guidance to those here and around us who are constantly troubled. And a reminder to love our parents each and everyday we have with them. A prayer for warmth towards Joseph Bathan and his siblings.
