And not have it the other way around!
Tomorrow begins the mandatory summer term for my course. I'm heading back to the dorm in a few minutes. The same old dorm, but with a different cast of characters. There's probably only going to be more or less ten of us there compared to the 70 plus male occupants this past year.
A gym in our own home
I just got back from SM Bacoor and my mom is buying us a home gym and that conveyor belt machine. I was surprised! This is just great! I'm not being sarcastic... I'm really thrilled to know that in the next few weeks we'll have a little gym in our own house (on the garden terrace). That just makes my whole fitness routine turn up for the better!
My mom seems to be so fascinated by the walking thingamajig... conveyor belt thing. She's over there at the Sportshouse earlier at SM comparing prices. Wait until my dad finds out that his hard earned money on a foreign sea ship is being fast spent! Haha. But I thing it's a good investment. It'll promote health in our family. Having a home gym is a little exciting. A bench press, the upper abdomen pulley, the back exercises, pec deck... wow... all on our terrace.
Summer promenade
My sentiments for the summer term? I'm not sure if it's extra energy from the Enervon HP chocolate drink that I've been enjoying the past few days... but I'm so ready to face whatever in my three subjects. I have two majors, Newswriting and Editing and then there's Newspaper Management and Production. I also advanced one subject, Principles of Economics w/ LRT.
I should have the right to feel good!
I haven't failed a single subject in this rough curriculum. The remaining subjects in my curriculum for 3rd Year and 4th Year College are all focused on journalism and on broadcasting. There's RTV Newswriting, Musical Scoring, Photojournalism, Cinematography, and Investigative Journalism up ahead in the next two years. No more of the messy minors such as World Literature, Biological Science [what the f*ck, what's the connection?!], General Chemistry, and of course the recent one that I was fortunate to pass- Logic.
And then I'm advancing a subject! It just loosens to belt a little. Makes you feel a bit relaxed. I'm planning to take a foreigners' version of Kursong Rizal in the first semester. I know I've been in the Philippines for almost six years now, but I had to pay a special "foreigners" fee when I entered La Salle so I believe I should reap the benefits of such.
For the past few days or in other words, this past Holy Week, I've been at home. Like I've said before I've been spending time watching lots of movies.
A partial list of movies I've seen lately
Pavillion of Women
- This drama, despite the flat english they used, brought teary-eyed
Monster's Ball
- Finally watched it... halle berry was great
Minority Report
- One of my faves, watched it three times these past few days.
The Other Side of Heaven
- A classic. The thought of one man immersing himself away from his true love and his home all for his mission to spread God's word was just inspiring. And it's on an island too!
Bring It On Again
- You can't forget watching these Teen Flicks.
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
- An eye-opener. It's this advanced world at the dawn of the 20th Century.
The Ring - Call of Evil (Ringu)
- I bought the VCD when I saw it for Php 99.00 at SM. Had to watch it again.
Minsa'y Isang Gamu-Gamo
- I stopped by ABS-CBN's Cinama One channel to catch this movie with young Nora Aunor facing the problems of living near a US Base in the Philippines (back then). It was a drama alright, but the ending was just terrible! I'm not talking about a tragedy... I'm talking about this scene where a motorcycle drives by in front of the Tarlac Municipal Hall and then a car hits it. People run towards the accident... and the next thing you know it's the CBB (closing billboard for non-media peeps here). WTF?! I don't get it! I need someone to explain! I thought it faded away for a commercial but it didn't... THE END flashed on the screen. Huh?!
The Bourne Identity
- I wish I had his reflexes. That's all I can say!
Steven Spielberg's 'Taken' [episodes 2-5 only]
-I was glued to the TV with my friend Rom watching this. I thought it ended on the 5th Episode because it was climatic and everything and it was also the lat episode of the "Taken" marathon on Star Movies. I was watching that all afternoon and evening yesterday (Saturday) and then this morning I look at the Movies they have on HBO and Star Movies which is shown on Cavite Cable's Program Guide... it doesn't end until the 9th episode! I was only half way! I have to watch it another time because I was out of the house this Easter Sunday.
So maybe they aren't of the artsy set that upperclass AB Comm students enjoy! I watched whatever was interesting on cable television. I want to watch "The Pianist" which shows tonight on Star Movies, but I'm going to the dorms already.

I'm also in a new room! My roomies this summer in F1:
Mark Panizales
- 2nd Year Accountancy major
- MASIPAG. Emphysis on the caps lock.
- Meteor Garden/Mandarin stuff closet fan
- Tom's classmate in some subjects
Andrew Bautista
- 1st Year ECE major
- Abbie's boyfriend
- Campus heart throb! Hahaha.
Both Mark and Andrew were room mates this past year in Condo-B7.
I'm leaving Condo-F3 for the first time ever since I came to La Salle.

I'd also like to set up a jogging schedule that coincides with a gym sched. Preferably MWF or TTH is the gym and on the opposite days it'll be jogging before 7am around the campus. I'd also like to eat 6 times a day instead of 3 giant meals. I need to drink 2/3 a gallon of water each day. Drink my Enervon HP chocolate and other powder or milk drinks that have whey in it. Can't forget the boiled eggs!
I'm starting to understand nutrition more. Protein, Cholesterol, Good Fat versus Saturated Bad Fat, you name it.
For sports, well there's the jogging and running. Swimming too! Badminton, why not! Modern dance lessons!
I now embark on a mission to build and shape myself.
So I can wear my t-shirts and polos. Not let those t-shirts and polos wear me.
