WHEN DROWNING ISN'T SEXY
A moment to think about another tragedy in December

I am still shocked by the sheer number of deaths caused by the deadliest tsunami to hit parts of the world in over a century. It started off with four-digit fatalities and now it's reaching 40,000 and still climbing.

One of the greatest blessings this year must be the geographical location of the Philippines. If such ocean terror struck in the South China Sea or Pacific Ocean, the victims of the typhoons that ravaged Luzon this past month will be nothing compared to a national catastrophe.

That's what I'm thankful for most, at this moment. The beautiful ocean and waters my feet were in at Puerto Galera a few months ago is now an underwater hell for millions of people in South Asia.

God bless to all the victims.
God speed to the greatest humanitarian aid effort in history.
