If only this kind of experience could be prolonged. If only we didn't have a thesis to worry about or subjects back at school to tend to. If only our practicum was like an isolation or rather a breather from the academe.
I don't mind if I am asked to buy a Caesar Salad at Starbucks or told to wash a mug or a delicate wine glass. To do those things in trade for a hands-on experience with the news room is worth it.
Our OJT is definitely not one constant thing. It is all about diskarte and nailing the right options and ceasing the right opportunities. They can give you one thing, and you can accomplish it. But then you have to search for more things, find your way to penetrate, and strike.
If you don't move, you'll just get pushed around. That's what I love about this practicum, it's a discipline and a test of how you can manage to adjust yourself.
The sight of my classmates during my OJT just gives me an energy boost. Tired late nights to fresh early mornings. An apartment of noisy classmates and friends, but who gives a damn, it's all fun.
And it all ends so soon.
If you have less than a hundred hours logged in, it would be expected you'd do everything to buy yourself more hours. But I have a feeling that as I near 200 hours, I will lessen "counting the free time" because a part of me wants to stay.
Here are some pictures.

Taking down notes in my tablet.

Ara scouts for a M.O.T.S. (man on the street).

Upper with Tim Yap.

Kapuso trainees, close buddies.

Mini-Stop Boys.

Donita Rose with four celebrities.

Aba, enjoy na enjoy ang apartment.

The wannabe producers.

Oh no, paano yan Mark?

Joyce: Ano ginawa niya sa 'yo?!

Carmi Martin.

David Celdran.

Transcribing.
Practicum hours:
100 1/2 (99 1/2 remaining)
Most memorable moment:
Taking part in a MOTS vs Dubbing a line from a feed in Iloilo

Housemates gather for Christmas
After many Christmas parties at ABS-CBN, we threw one of our own at the duplex. It wasn't exactly a party, rather a gathering.

A simple Christmas gathering.

Sleepy Franco, Smiley Ara

Bathe in the streetlight.

Typical duplex scene.
Andoks by tANCr men.
Spaghetti cooked by BJ (Hermie's boyfriend).
Melted ice cream by Upper.
Lots of drinks by Franco (commuted from Cabuyao just for the party).
Fried fish by Joyce (catering to boyfriend Mark who was sick).
Special bread by Pepet (using the Super Pan of Asia).
Red Horse by everyone (fun time drinking).
Card games courtesy Upper.
*Salute to the king*
*Hands to the center*
Shot of beer.
Good morning Queen!
Hi Jack!!!
*bagsak*
And that is how I ended the week, falling into deep sleep induced by days of work and a couple rounds of beer.
That was a pre-Christmas well spent with my housemates and friends.
I love you guys, Merry Christmas!
