SUN, SWEAT, AND LA SALLE
The Damage Report - Broadjourn Summer - Ending Week #36/1
NOTE: This is a weekly blog entry that summarizes a series of events of a finished week in and around La Salle.
"Trece, Trece, Trece... Dasma, Dasma... Area C, Kadiwa, La Salle sakay na!... SM, Zapote... Naic, Bacao, Tanza... dalawa pa!"
SEVERAL jeepnee rides and long hours on the road in-between DLSU-DasmariƱas and Tanza, Cavite had driven me up the insanity meter. I hated commuting more than ever. I was adjusting to making my hatred into useful experience instead. If the entire country used my favorite chirping Baby Bus than maybe the world didn't have to end now.
The compulsary Summer Term classes Broadjourn began last Tuesday. You can also read about Wednesday and Thursday.
Today we had another round of discussions in both subjects. In English102 we had to re-write a love letter that was loaded with cliches. It was a fun activity for such a hot and boring morning. We crossed the campus and had Philosophy at DPH. Things made sense considering we had hand-outs and the setting was organized. Except when our professor mentioned something like "Has anyone here ever doubted a doubt?" which sent heads spinning into confusion since she didn't repeat the question and continued rephrasing it until we got even more confused.
After both classes, people dispersed in different directions. I joined Tintin, Joanna, Shiela, and Jezire in going to Tintin's Apartment again in DasmariƱas Bayan. Without Jerson (who isn't taking Summer) and without Eric (went to SM Bacoor I think), I was the only guy to go with these girls.
I spent the whole afternoon in the apartment. They had interesting conversations ranging from Stories of the Supernatural (the classics) to their Love Lives (also a classic). I was overwhelmed by the heat of the afternoon that I felt like I wanted to collapse. We ate take-out from McDo at Tintin's apartment.
I commuted home with Joanna getting off near the Imus Palengke. From there I went to SM and ended up in Astrovision purchasing "The Ring" (English version) since I felt like buying a VCD movie to watch. I took a Naic Bacao baby bus from the front of SM Bacoor and got home around 8 o'clock in the evening.
At home I finished my 2nd McDo Meal of the day and watched a little television before heading online. I chatted with my classmate Kate for awhile. I also found out after signing up at Philippine Blog Awards (i was interested in meeting Filipino bloggers) that Brodcst Msktir joins the list as Nominated. I didn't expect it would be that fast or that automatic. My only goal was to mingle. Heheh.
The past week has been very tiresome. My dad is supposed to return any time and any day now, and I'm still dying to have a car and to finish learning how to drive. I hate commuting. It just adds stress. And to say it's a hundred degrees Faranheit out there these days.
I'm making this one short since I have been keeping this blog pretty much posted this past week with day-by-day reviews. I want to spend this weekend fixing up my room before my dad gets here from his port in Singapore and I want to finally finish up the 9 galleries I've promised. Together with all "The Pages" like Profiles, FAQ, Phase Plates, etc.
Title in Review: It should be "Sun, Sweat, and Sand" but we all should know that this Summer won't totally escape from La Salle. I want to go to the beach and eat barbeque...
